Fort Worth Opera proudly announced today the news that distinguished author, cultural critic, and academic Margo Jefferson will deliver a keynote lecture on The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess at Bass Performance Hall, Saturday, April 27, as part of the opening weekend of the 2019 Fort Worth Opera Festival. Winner of the 1995 Pulitzer Prize in Criticism for her work at The New York Times, Jefferson's essays and reviews have appeared in numerous publications such as The Guardian, Harper's, The Scholar, and New York Magazine.

The Group Rep Presents Ira Levin's Comic Thriller DEATHTRAP directed by Jules Aaron, produced by Larry Eisenberg. One of the great popular successes of Broadway history and Tony nominated for Best Play in 1978, Deathtrap deals with the devious machinations of a writer of thrillers who is prepared to go to any lengths to improve his fortunes. Deathtrap runs April 6 through May 20 at the Lonny Chapman Theatre in North Hollywood.

Experience Chicago's blues music legacy at the 35th Annual Chicago Blues Festival happening June 8-10 in Millennium Park (201 E. Randolph St.). Sam Norkin (1917-2011), who drew Broadway for decades, honoring opening nights with the caricature of a star or the entire company, most notably for the New York Daily News, is the subject of an online exhibition at Broadway Design Exchange, beginning now through November 19.
