Fresh off its recent IRNE wins, Hub Theatre Company of Boston will continue its fifth season with the hilarious theatrical romp Waiting for Waiting for Godot by Dave Hanson Friday, July 14 through Saturday, July 29 at Club Cafe, 209 Columbus Avenue in Boston's Back Bay. Performances are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2 pm.

Under normal circumstances, it wouldn't be a bad problem to have. During rehearsals for the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts' production of the Jason Robert Brown and Alfred Uhry musical PARADE, director and Theatre Department Co-Chair David Loudermilk realized his student cast would need some hard lessons on embodying the intense negative feelings of prejudice. 'I think it's an interesting balance,' Loudermilk comments. 'With this generation being so open and accepting and understanding of things - especially here at DA - it's hard for the kids to go to the 'other side' of it. They're struggling with getting angry. They just don't know how.'

Author John van Willigen Receives James Mooney Award for KENTUCKY'S COOKBOOK HERITAGE

Lexington, KY—University Press of Kentucky author John van Willigen has been recognized by the the Southern Anthropological Society for Kentucky's Cookbook Heritage: Two Hundred Years of Southern Cuisine and Culture. The book was awarded an Honorable Mention for the James Mooney Award for its contribution to anthropological scholarship on the South and Southerners. The Mooney Award was created to recognize and encourage distinguished anthropological scholarship on the South and Southerners. Presented annually, the award includes a $500 cash prize and certificate of recognition to be presented to the winning author at an awards ceremony. In addition, an Honorable Mention Award includes a certificate of recognition. It was created in honor of James Mooney, the prominent American ethnographer who lived with the Cherokee people during the late nineteenth century.

Fall 2015 Season of Adult Programs Begins This Month at the Morris Museum

The Morris Museum launches its fall 2015 season of Adult Programs with an engaging array of concerts, lectures and films. The September and October line-up includes a film screening and discussion of the PBS documentary 'Latino Americans: 500 Years of History' on September 26 and October 3, a Guinness Collection Piano Concert on September 27, and a jazz concert by the Beacon Hill All-Stars on October 5. Also on the schedule is a Latino Cultural Day on October 10, a lecture on Gustav Stickley on October 14, and a performance by the Rondi Charleston Jazz Band on October 19.
