Six-time Tony Award-winning costume designer CATHERINE ZUBER and legendary scenic designer TONY STRAIGES are among the 2017 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients which were just announced by Theatre Development Fund (TDF), a not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts.

Full casting for Edward Albee's The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? is announced today. Joining Damian Lewis and Sophie Okonedo, who play husband and wife Martin and Stevie in Ian Rickson's production, will be Jason Hughes as Martin's oldest friend Ross and Archie Madekwe as their son Billy.

Houston Grand Opera expands its commitment to broadening the audience for opera with a 2017-18 season that includes the first presentations of Leonard Bernstein's classic musical West Side Story by a major American opera house and the world premiere of composer Ricky Ian Gordon and librettist Royce Vavrek's holiday opera The House without a Christmas Tree. The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' Chairman of the Board of Directors, David C. Bohnett, announced the election of Leslie Birnbaum, Michael Nemeroff, Daphnah Nazarian and Bruce Shulman to the company's Board of Directors. Entitled 'Tango Vivos,' and presented by the trans-national management team Triplespeak in association with Lacoren Productions, the evening will celebrate the tango as a regenerating art form, welcoming new interpretations and in uences.

CASA 0101 Theater, Josefina Lopez, Artistic Director and the newly formed production company, Angel City Theater Ensemble (ACTE), Vance Valencia, Founder, will present the Los Angeles Premiere of the critically acclaimed play, MARIELA IN THE DESERT, written by Karen Zacarias, directed by Robert Beltran (Star Trek:  Voyager; Zoot Suit; Eating Raoul).  The production will be presented for a five-week run on the theater's Main Stage located at 2102 East First Street (at St. Louis Street), Boyle Heights, CA  90033 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and on Sundays at 5:00 p.m., November 4 - December 11, 2016.  There will be no performances on Thanksgiving Weekend, November 25th, 26th and 27th.

???????A cast of nine women led by Karen Lynn Gorney bring to life a story of the generational effects of the Holocaust in 'From Silence,' a new play by Anne Marilyn Lucas.  It is widely acknowledged that even as Holocaust survivors are passing on, their trauma lives on in their children and grand children.  This play explores how such trauma is inherited even without being spoken of, seemingly as a genetic or behavioral legacy.  The piece then illustrates that speaking out, processing and understanding can bring healing to families.  This world premiere will be presented by Theater for the New City from November 4 to 20, directed by Peter Zachari.

The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston (ICA) presents The Artist's Museum, an exhibition focused on the creative impulse to collect and connect, featuring work by twelve American and European artists, including a major new commission for the exhibition by Anna Craycroft, as well as by Rosa Barba, Christian Marclay, and Rosemarie Trockel, Carol Bove, Rachel Harrison, Louise Lawler, Mark Leckey, Pierre Leguillon, Goshka Macuga, Xaviera Simmons, and Sara VanDerBeek.
