Legendary costume designer ALBERT WOLSKY and world renowned scenic designer MING CHO LEE are among the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 23 at 6:30pm at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Two-time Academy Award-winner Albert Wolsky will receive the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design, and Tony Award-winning scenic designer and educator Ming Cho Lee will receive the TDF/Irene Sharaff Robert L.B. Schiff & Wright to Star in Broadway Revival of TALLEY'S FOLLY

Producers Phil Monat, T. Richard Fitzgerald and Randall L. Wreghitt announced today that TALLEY'S FOLLY, the classic Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Lanford Wilson (Burn This, Fifth of July, Balm in Gilead) will have its first-ever Broadway revival as part of the 2010-2011 Season. THE SECOND CITY DOES ARIZONA is an original revue of comic sketches and songs aimed at skewering everything and everyone that is unique, ridiculous and wonderful about the land of rising temperatures and falling real estate. The Second City Does Arizona plays in Tucson at the Temple of Music and Art from April 3 through April 24. Lead character Nomax, whose girlfriend has left him and who is without money, finds Big Moe, Four-Eyed Moe, Eat Moe, No Moe, and Little Moe emerging from his 1930's-style radio to comfort him. They sing the hit songs of songwriter and saxophonist Louis Jordan, whose new slant on jazz paved the way for rock and roll in the 1950s. (more...)

George Merritt Memorial Service Set for Feb. 23 in NYC

George Robert Merritt, Jr. of Hawthorne, N.J. passed into eternal life on Monday, February 15, 2010 at the age of 67. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Bobbie, of 18 years of marriage, his beloved step-daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Andrew of NY, his pride and joy grandchildren, Joshua, Olivia and Paris, 5 loving God-children, Kristen, Natlalie, Ricki, Anna and Josiah, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the son of Mary Hawes of Ct., the brother of Philip, Henry, Rachel, Natalea, Roderick, Ralph, Sue, Patti and Tom. He was pre-deceased by his brothers, Andy and Ken. A Celebration Service will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 7:00 PM at: Calvary Baptist Church, 123 West 57th St., New York City, N.Y. (more...)
