Since 2000, The Studio Theatre has hosted the Louise Heck-Rabi Dramatic Playwriting One Act Festival, encouraging young playwrights to submit their original works. Each year, 6-7 semi-finalists are chosen out of all submissions. The plays are then read at a Workshop, where they are critiqued by judges. Three finalists win a scholarship as well as the opportunity to produce their play in front of a live audience. Each winning playwright has a chance to work with a student director and student performers to realize their productions on the stage. (more...)

In 1993, Iridesense was assembled to play then High Schooler Rick Eberle's 12th Grade Battle of The Bands, with Rick on guitar and vocals, his sister Tara Eberle on Bass, Rob Viccari on Lead Guitar and Rich Drouin on drums. A new production of Hikobae, a play about the medical staff who risked their lives following the devastating earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disasters that struck Japan on March 11, 2011 will premiere in Los Angeles on March 30th & 31st and New York on April 5th & 6th. Hikobae honors the first responders and those who lost their lives in the disaster. The X Factor breakout band Emblem3 immediately sell-out shows across the US. The band kicked off their sold-out West Coast tour dates this Wednesday February 27 in Los Angeles at the Roxy to a packed house that saw fans sleeping overnight to get a prime spot in front of the stage. Their just announced East Coast tour dates went on sale this weekend and were immediate sell-outs. The sell-out demanded a second show to be added in Chicago which also sold-out instantly.
