BWW Interviews: Ryan Kelly Talks LIVING WITH HENRY

Living with Henry was a hit at last year's Toronto Fringe Festival, and is back on stage with the Next Stage Theatre Festival. Featuring some of Canada's best and brightest musical theatre performers, the show is a semi-autobiographical look at life with HIV/AIDS. The lead character is played by Ryan Kelly who was most recently seen in Studio 180's critically acclaimed production of The Normal Heart. He took a few minutes to talk with BWW about the show, and about his tendency to gravitate towards roles that deal with death, disease and the human spirit. (more...)

Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that William Shatner is headed to Broadway in early 2012 with a 2-3 week engagement of SHATNER'S WORD: WE JUST LIVE IN IT which will play for 2-3 weeks at the Music Box Theater on Broadway. GLEE Give a Note Winners Announced!

Twentieth Century Fox Television, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) announced today the winners for the "GLEE Give a Note" campaign - that started over 3 months ago - whereby 73 schools nationwide will receive grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 to help save struggling music programs. As the economy continues to stumble, school music and fine arts classes are the first to feel the impact with drastic budget cuts and elimination of departments. The "GLEE Give a Note" campaign aims to soften the blow, and reignite public passion for supporting student arts programs and the teachings they provide to students. (more...)
