The plot of this sad story belongs to Alexander Dumas fils, wrote two works of "La Traviata" (traviata - fallen) Marguerite Gautier, a real prototype of which, Marie Duplessis, he was familiar - the novel (1848) and drama (1852); both titled "The Lady of the Camellias", which brought fame to the author. Now the graves of the writer and Duplessis are close to one of the Parisian cemeteries are places of pilgrimage for lovers who surrounded them in the same worship, like Romeo and Juliet. However, it is believed that, despite the success, for Dumas it would be better if he first became acquainted with Violetta Valery, "La Traviata" by Verdi and Piave. Violetta - so vital character of such a bright personality, that in comparison with it the image of Marguerite Dumas pale.
In "La Traviata" FM Piave gave a chronicle of modern musical theater, and Verdi created a perfect image of the protagonist, "divine", as if intended to embody all the charm of the divas of the XIX century and at the same time very convincing female type, some will no longer be in the opera composer. Violetta covers all the action and each character, which in turn is designed to illuminate it. With great skill Verdi was able to show the three persons love the experience of the heroine: the cult of freedom inherent in this beauty, her passion for her lover, finally self-sacrifice. Only the heroine of Puccini will have a similar emotional force, but even then we will not see a combination of all these three aspects, all of these three characters in one person, as if crying out to different performer in each of the actions.
