I am sincerely glad to greet spectators Yekaterinburg State academic Opera and ballet with the first ballet premiere 99-th theatrical season-ballet "Kate and Prince of Siam" by p. Ovsyannikov.
The choice of the name for the new set was not accidental. Yekaterinburg Theater of Opera and ballet have strong business and friendly relations with Thailand. Our team has participated in the annual Bangkok International Festival of music and dance. More recently, at the end of last season, our theatre has become one of the sites for holding large-scale international project dedicated to the memory of Princess Galyani Vadhana of Thailand and the development of Russian-Thai relations.
Today, the audience expects a new event-we present the ballet "Kate and Prince of Siam to the music of contemporary Russian composer, people's artist of Russia by Pavel Ovsyannikov. With this ballet Russian viewer not familiar. Little-known fact that Tsarist Russia and Siam (as Thailand was earlier) were strong public relations. The libretto of the ballet is a true love story St. Petersburg girl Catherine Desnitskaya and Siamese Prince ?akraponga. First the development of music in his time took choreographer people's artist of Russia Andrey Petrov. However, the Ballet created by him a few years ago, was shown in Thailand and nowhere to go. Ekaterinburg Opera and Ballet has a brand new show, the original libretto and choreography. We have to be known for its vibrant contemporary choreographer Vasily Medvedev, honoured artist of Estonia, by which Ballet Theater Coralli. Styling a ballet created by Dmitry ?erbadži. Music Director performance is Chief invited conductor of the Ekaterinburg Opera Theater, the conductor of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Mikhail Granovsky. Thanks to their creative cooperation with our Theatre Ballet "Kate and Prince of Siam" was first staged version in Russia. This is a play, which can be seen only in the Repertoire of the theatre.
I hope that our new Prime Minister would be able to win the viewer's attention and will find its admirers both in Russia and in Thailand.
