Museum of the Moving Image will present a preview screening of The Way, Way Back, the eagerly anticipated summer comedy from Fox Searchlight, on Thursday, June 27, at 7:00 p.m. Following the screening, directors Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (the team that won an Oscar for writingThe Descendants), and the film's stars Liam James and Sam Rockwell will participate in a discussion with Chief Curator David Schwartz. The film, which opens in theaters July 5, also features Steve Carell, Allison Janney, Zoe Levin, and Toni Collette.

Columbia Records will release 'The Way, Way Back: Music From The Motion Picture,' the soundtrack from the new film from writer/directors Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, on July 2, 2013. The film will release in select theatres on July 5, 2013 and will expand into a nationwide release throughout the month. The album is currently available for pre-order at http://smarturl.it/twwb.

Today the Los Angeles Film Festival, presented by Film Independent, in conjunction with Presenting Media Sponsor the Los Angeles Times and Host Partner L.A. LIVE, announced its official US and international selections. Fox Searchlight Pictures' The Way, Way Back, written and directed by Oscar winners Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, will serve as the Closing Night film for the 2013 Festival.

THE WAY, WAY BACK is the funny and poignant coming-of-age story of 14-year-old Duncan's (Liam James) summer vacation with his mother, Pam (Toni Collette), her overbearing boyfriend, Trent (Steve Carell), and his daughter Steph (Zoe Levin). Having a rough time fitting in, the introverted Duncan finds an unexpected friend in gregarious Owen (Sam Rockwell), manager of the Water Wizz water park. Through his funny, clandestine friendship with Owen, Duncan slowly opens up and begins to finally find his place in the world-all during a summer he will never forget.
