York Theatre Company launched its new "New2NY" series last weekend with a concert presentation and New York premiere of the musical Jack: A Musical Drama on the Life of John F. Kennedy, with book and lyrics by Tom Sawyer and Will Holt, music by Will Holt, and based on a an original concept by Tom Sawyer. Directed by David Green, and with Music Direction by Dennis Buck, the five member cast features Nick Wyman and Claybourne Elder, with Judy Kaye and Alexander Silber as the six wives, and Alexander Gemignani playing Henry VIII.

Directed by Philip Himberg and with music direction by Charity Wicks, the two-member cast stars Sally Wilfert and Michael Winther.

Chromolume Theatre has announced its next production, The Musical of Musicals, The Musical! The show has a book by JoAnne Bogart and Eric Rockwell, music by Rockwell, and lyrics by Bogart, and will be directed for Chromolume by Kristin Towers-Rowles. With choreography by Anna Rubin and music direction by Richard Berent, opening is set for Friday, November 8 at 8pm. The Musical of Musicals will play a strictly limited engagement through December 8 only.

It will be a homecoming when the original cast of the York Theatre Company's 2012 revival production of the classic Off-Broadway hit musical Closer Than Ever, with lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. and music by David Shire, featuring Jenn Colella,George Dvorsky, Christiane Noll and Sal Viviano, reunite for the official New York release of the new cast recording on the Jay Record Label.

Milwaukee Repertory Theater presents Ragtime, the sweeping musical which will kick off The Rep's 2013/14 60th Anniversary Season in the Quadracci Powerhouse theater.

The cast is set to perform selections from the 2-CD recording and will be joined by music director Andrew Gerle and Mr. Shire on Friday, September 20 at Barnes & Noble (150 East 86th Street, between Lexington and Third Avenues) beginning at 5:00 p.m. Priority seating will be available with purchase. The York Theatre Company production of the New York premiere of Storyville, a New Orleans musical, with book by Ed Bullins, music and lyrics by Mildred Kayden, direction by Bill Castellino, choreography by Mercedes Ellington and music direction by William Foster McDaniel will give its final performance this evening, August 17, 2013 at 8:00pm at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's where performances began July 15, 2013. Storyville will have played 8 preview and 27 regular performances.
