Trio da Paz returns to the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival on Sunday, August 17 at 7:30 pm. With three of Brazil's most in-demand musicians, Trio da Paz updates and redefines Brazilian jazz with their harmonically adventurous interactions, daring improvisations and dazzling rhythms. Trio da Paz was formed in 1990 by guitarist Romero Lubambo, bassist Nilson Matta, and drummer Duduka da Fonseca, all seasoned masters of both jazz and Brazilian music.

The Cleveland Orchestra previously announced the 2014 Blossom Music Festival season. The Festival comprises 18 concerts - including 15 by The Cleveland Orchestra, two Blossom Festival Band concerts, and one concert by the Blossom Festival Orchestra - at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Valley National Park from today, July 3 - August 31.

Music Mountain, America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, continues its 85th anniversary season with a mid-season benefit concert featuring the master pianist Peter Serkin and the acclaimed Orion String Quartet on Sunday, July 19 (3PM), performing a distinguished program including Haydn, plus works for piano and strings by Brahms, and Dvorak. Bang on a Can: Other Primary Structures, a concert featuring Bang on a Can All-Stars Vicky Chow (piano) and David Cossin (percussion) with Dither Quartet guitarists Taylor Levine and James Moore, will take place at the Jewish Museum on Thursday, July 10 at 7:30pm. This program is the first auditorium concert of the Jewish Museum and Bang on a Can's new partnership to produce a series of dynamic musical performances at the Museum from June 2014 to May 2015, inspired by the Jewish Museum's diverse slate of exhibitions.

The Zell Family Foundation Makes $17 Million Contribution to The Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association, at its Board of Trustees meeting today, acknowledged the announcement by Helen and Sam Zell that the Zell Family Foundation has made a $17 million contribution to the CSOA's endowment and general operating funds. This gift provides for the naming, in perpetuity, of the position of Music Director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, which has been held by Riccardo Muti since 2010.
