The Baxter Theatre Centre's smash hit production of MIES JULIE, which took Edinburgh by storm in 2012, returns to the Edinburgh Assembly Fringe Festival this month following its unprecedented international success. Written and directed by Yael Farber, the production joins an impressive line-up of six award-winning and cutting-edge productions from the  Baxter.

The international premiere of Lara Foot's THE INCONVENIENCE OF WINGS, which has played three successful seasons in its country of origin, South Africa, takes place as part of the Baxter Theatre Centre's impressive showcase of six award-winning and cutting-edge productions at the 2017 Edinburgh Assembly Fringe Festival in Scotland this August.

Writer-director Lara Foot's TSHEPANG: THE THIRD TESTAMENT, a play that rocked South African and shocked the world, forms part of the South African showcase at the 2017 Edinburgh Assembly Fringe Festival in Scotland. The impressive total of six award-winning and cutting-edge productions is presented by the Baxter Theatre Centre.

The Baxter Theatre Centre, producers of the hit 2012 Edinburgh play, MIES JULIE, has been invited to showcase an impressive total of six award-winning, cutting-edge, South African productions at the 2017 Edinburgh Assembly Fringe Festival in Scotland this August.

The Donmar Warehouse announces today two new plays for the 2017 autumn period.  Internationally-acclaimed theatre artist, Yael Farber, makes her Donmar debut directing David Harrower's haunting Knives in Hens with full casting that includes Christian Cook, Judith Roddy and Matt Ryan.  This will be the play's first major London revival since its premiere in 1995, when it instantly established Harrower as one of the UK's leading playwrights. 

Salome, that dancing seductress who demanded the head of John the Baptist, has been reclaimed by Yael Farber in this new feminist interpretation (the RSC stages Oscar Wilde's more familiar take next month). Or at least that's the intention, but Farber's production sacrifices the personal for the mythic - ironically once again losing the girl history erased in a storm of overblown symbolism.

St. Ann's Warehouse has announced its 2017 gala, which will feature a special concert, created for the occasion, by Tony Award-winner and GRAMMY Award-nominee Lena Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, How to Transcend a Happy Marriage), Monday, June 5, at the "stunning" (New York Magazine) waterfront theater in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

St. Ann's Warehouse and Irish Arts Center (IAC) join forces to introduce New York audiences to two new works by the Tony Award-winning Irish playwright-director Enda Walsh.

Gaurav Kripalani will be appointed the new Festival Director designate of the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) with effect from 1 May 2017. This will be for a tenure of three festivals from 2018 till 2020.  The appointment was announced by the Arts House Limited (AHL), a company of the National Arts Council (NAC) which commissions the annual SIFA. Gaurav will take the helm from outgoing Festival Director Ong Keng Sen, who will see through the 2017 edition which begins in June.
