The Community Theatre of Little Rock will present its Christmas Musical 'A 1940's Radio Christmas Carol". Show dates are tonight, November 16st, 17nd, 22nd, 23th, 24th, December 1st and 2nd at 7:30 pm and October 18th and December 2nd at 2pm, to be held at the PUBLIC Theatre, located at 616 Center Street, next to Horn's Men's Store in downtown Little Rock.

The 1940's Radio Hour, a musical comedy by Walton Jones (based on an idea he hatched with Carol Lees,) takes you on a trip to Christmas season, 1942. Members of the "Mutual Manhattan Variety Cavalcade," are preparing a final holiday broadcast for the troops fighting World War II. It's getting close to airtime at WOV in New York City, and the zany group is coping with backstage drama that threatens to botch their broadcast. Will they be ready in time?

The Department of Communication Arts at Georgia Southern University celebrates the 100th anniversary of radio with its Theatre and Performance's presentation of The 1940's Radio Hour by Walton Jones. The 1940's Radio Hour opens runs now through November 14. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee performance on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m.

The Community Theatre of Little Rock will present its Christmas Musical 'A 1940's Radio Christmas Carol". Show dates are November 16st, 17nd, 22nd, 23th, 24th, December 1st and 2nd at 7:30 pm and October 18th and December 2nd at 2pm, to be held at the PUBLIC Theatre, located at 616 Center Street, next to Horn's Men's Store in downtown Little Rock. Regular admission is $16 for adults and $14 for military, students and seniors age 65 and over. Groups of 10 or more can get in for $14. Children age six and under are given free admission. Bring a pair of gently used running shoes and receive $1.00 off your admission.

Vassar & New York Stage and Film's Powerhouse Theater Training Program will present two classic works - Sophie Treadwell's Machinal (July 9 - 12) and William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet (July 16 - 19) - performed by the Powerhouse Apprentice Company at Vassar's Outdoor Amphitheater. In 2007, these performances were named by Hudson Valley Magazine as the 'Best Way to Introduce Kids to the Classics' in the annual 'Best of the Hudson Valley.' All the programs will begin at 6:00pm each evening. (In case of rain, the performances will be held in the Mug in the basement of the College Center.)
