Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the world premiere of Imaginary Comforts, or The Story of the Ghost of the Dead Rabbit, written by Daniel Handler and directed by Tony Taccone. The new play begins previews on Thursday, October 5 and the show runs through Sunday, November 19. BRAWL IN CELL BLOCK 99 stars Vince Vaughn (Hacksaw Ridge, “True Detective”), Jennifer Carpenter (“Dexter”), Marc Blucas (“Underground”), Udo Kier (Blade), and Don Johnson (Django Unchained). The film will make its World Premiere at the 2017 Venice International Film Festival and will continue on to screen at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival and Fantastic Fest.

An eclectic lineup is featured this month at Blue Note Hawaii with an array of iconic national artists, local favorites and hilarious comedians. The Henry Kapono Artist to Artist Series continues with Jerry Santos of Olomana, followed by local greats Shawn Pimental and Lehua Kalima, one-man wonder Tavana, Kapono N??ili?ili, Brother Noland and of course the incomparable Willie K. The Blue Note Hawaii Comedy Series continues this month with Steve Byrne and Louie Anderson. National recording artist and GRAMMY Award-winning R&B icon Regina Belle kicks off the month and is book ended with a capella phenoms Take 6. More artists this month include bandoneon player JP Jofre and his Nuevo Tango Quartet, the amazing flamenco guitarist Ottmar Liebert and pop singer-songwriter Eric Hutchinson. There are also two late-night shows with self-proclaimed blues road dog G Love, following his performances at the sold-out Jack Johnson concerts.

New City Players presents the comedy Twelfth Night (also known as What You Will) by William Shakespeare published in his 1623 First Folio. The first recorded performance was on February 2, 1602, at Candlemas, the formal end of Christmastide in the year's calendar.
