Billboard, the leading destination for charts, news, trends and innovations in music, announced today that Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding will host its 13th Annual Women in Music event on December 6 in New York City. For the first time, Billboard will present the Executives of the Year Award to four powerhouse females for their incredible leadership in the music industry: Danielle Aguirre, Executive VP/General Counsel for the National Music Publishers Association; Dina LaPolt, Founder/Owner of LaPolt Law, who serves as legal counsel to the Songwriters of North America; Jacqueline Charlesworth, of counsel, Covington & Burling; and Susan Genco, Co-President, Azoff MSG Entertainment.

The cinematic event will coincide with the global release of Brightman's new album 'HYMN,' available beginning Friday, November 9 (Decca Gold/ Universal Music Group). The album is the first new recording in five years for international superstar and world's best-selling soprano Sarah Brightman.

Universal Music Group and Lionsgate have signed a multiyear first-look television deal, according to Variety. This deal will have the companies developing original scripted and unscripted television projects drawn from UMG's portfolio of labels, artists and music.

Glass Handel is one of two innovative and thought-provoking world premiere productions that highlight O18, the second edition of Opera Philadelphia's annual season-opening festival. Staged on September 22, 23 and 30 in the expansive Annenberg Court of Philadelphia's Barnes Foundation, home to O17's The Wake World, the new work is an immersive, multidisciplinary operatic installation headlined and created by American countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo – “a bona-fide star” (New Yorker) – in collaboration with producer Cath Brittan and avant-garde fashion/art company Visionaire.
