The Public Theater welcomes Tony Award nominee Jonathan Groff to the cast of HAMILTON as 'King George' tonight, March 3. Groff, who performed in The Public's recent revival of Hair as well as The Bacchae and The Singing Forest, is replacing Brian d'Arcy James, who will be starring in Something Rotten on Broadway this spring.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced today that Tony Award nominee Jonathan Groff will join the cast of HAMILTON as 'King George' on Tuesday, March 3. Groff, who performed in The Public's recent revival of Hair as well as The Bacchae and The Singing Forest, is replacing Brian d'Arcy James, who will be starring in Something Rotten on Broadway this spring. The world premiere musical HAMILTON, inspired by the book 'Alexander Hamilton' by Ron Chernow, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and directed by Thomas Kail, has been extended three times at The Public due to sold-out demand and will close as scheduled on Sunday, May 3 prior to a Broadway transfer to the Richard Rodgers Theatre beginning July 13 and opening August 6.

Cast Members from the Broadway musical IF/THEN will perform the songs of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning writing team of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey on Monday, March 2 at 54 Below (254 West 54th street). There will be two performances - 7:00pm (sold out) and a special added 11:30pm (tickets available). The one-night only concerts were originally scheduled for Monday, January 26th, but were re-scheduled due to winter storm Juno.

The Lion, the gripping, highly acclaimed autobiographical solo show written and performed by Benjamin Scheuer, opened last night, February 8th, at the Lynn Redgrave Theater at Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street). Directed by Sean Daniels, The Lion will play an extended engagement Off-Broadway through March 29th, following an award-winning run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and sold-out productions at the Manhattan Theatre Club and London's St. James Theatre. Ryann first broke onto the scene as Bridget in the Tony- nominated Bring It On the Musical, for which she received abundant critical acclaim. Stephen Brown of New York Magazine raved, 'As for show-stealers, well, it's a talent melee: Ryann Redmond slays us as Bridget, a nerdy, big-boned laugh-track of a cheer-wannabe who ends up with her own storyline.'
