County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, the Signature Series concludes this summer on Saturday, August 10 at 8 p.m., when Angelenos can experience an evening of dance featuring a special appearance by Complexions Contemporary Ballet, who mark their return to Los Angeles with a mix of repertory and new works and a performance by Los Angeles' own Lula Washington Dance Theatre. Repertory Dance Theatre Brings On Four New Dancers for 2013-14 Season

Repertory Dance Theatre has announced the addition of four new dancers for the upcoming 2013-2014 season. As the oldest, and most successful company of its kind, Repertory Dance Theatre (RDT) opens its 48th season with four new and talented faces. Justin Bass, Efren Corado, Ursula Perry, and Alyssa Thompson join the ranks of RDT company members, as almost 90 dancers have before.

Jacob's Pillow presents dynamic contemporary dance ensemble Brian Brooks Moving Company today, July 10-14 in its Doris Duke Theatre. Led by choreographer and Artistic Director Brian Brooks, a 2013 Guggenheim Fellow, the company presents a daring program featuring larger-than-life stage design, bold costuming, and full-out movement. These Pillow performances showcase multifaceted explorations of space and motion in four different works choreographed by Brooks including BIG CITY, I'm Going to Explode, DESCENT, and excerpts from MOTOR.

on tour with the Bolshoi Ballet in the US, she defected and immediately was in great demand internationally as a guest artist. She marked her Broadway debut in 1982 as Vera Baronova in the revival of On Your Toes, featuring Balanchine's Slaughter on Tenth Avenue ballet. Ms. Kozlova joined the New York City Ballet in 1983 as Principal Dancer and remained with the company until 1995, dancing lead roles choreographed by such dance icons as George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins, Peter Martins, Richard Tanner and Eliot Feld.

Internationally acclaimed tap dance virtuoso Savion Glover will be returning to New York City's Joyce Theater for a limited run of his new show, Savion Glover's STePz. Mr. Glover and his dance ensemble will deliver 21 performances only, between today, June 18 and July 6. Opening night is set for Wednesday, June 19.

The Joyce to Present 'Ballet v6.0' Festival in August

This August, The Joyce Theater will present Ballet v6.0, a remarkable festival designed to recognize dancers and choreographers who are creating work outside the traditional large company setting and are forming their own small companies. From August 6 - 17, some of the country's most exciting young dance companies whose works represents a range of ballet styles from neo classical to contemporary, will be presented as part of this festival at The Joyce. They are BalletX, Dominic Walsh Dance Theater, Company C Contemporary Ballet, Whim W'Him, BalletCollective and Jessica Lang Dance. Tickets range in price from $10-$39 (subject to change) and can be purchased by calling JoyceCharge at212-242-0800 or online at joyce.org. The Joyce Theater is located at 175 Eighth Avenue at West 19th Street.

Juilliard Dance, under the direction of Lawrence Rhodes, opens its 2013-2014 season with New Dances PLUS: Edition 2013, Wednesday, December 11 through Sunday, December 15, 2013 in Juilliard's Peter Jay Sharp Theater and features Juilliard alumna Pina Bausch's Wind von West (Wind from the West) performed by the Senior Class, plus three world premiere commissions created for each of the classes of Juilliard's Dance Division. Next season's innovative choreographers are Juilliard alumnus Takehiro Ueyama (1st Year Dancers); Brian Brooks (2nd Year Dancers); and Juilliard alumnus Darrell Grand Moultrie (3rdYear Dancers).

Rebecca Lazier's COMING TOGETHER/ATTICA Debuts at The Invisible Dog Tonight

Tonight, Thursday, June 13 (7 + 9 pm) at The Invisible Dog in Brooklyn, choreographer Rebecca Lazier and indie-classical ensemble Newspeak present the first US performances of Coming Together/Attica, a site-specific setting of Frederic Rzewski's iconic minimalist scores written following the 1971 prison riots in upstate New York. Lazier's dancers are Rashaun Mitchell and Silas Riener (formerly of Merce Cunningham Dance Company); Asli Bulbul, most recently from Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company; Jennifer Lafferty, who is featured in the work of Beth Gill and Yasuko Yokoshi; Pierre Guilbault; and Christopher Ralph.
