The award-winning teens of the Riverdale Rising Stars are proud to present Jonathan Larson's groundbreaking rock musical RENT: SCHOOL EDITION for eight performances only - April 5 - April 13, 2014. The 2014 Syracuse Stage Gala, an annual fundraiser presented by the Syracuse Stage Board of Trustees and the Syracuse Stage Guild, will take place on Saturday, June 7 at the Schine Student Center on the Syracuse University campus. The event will include a performance by Jesse Cook and his band, incorporating elements of flamenco rumba, jazz, and many forms of world music. Happy Birthday, Taye Diggs! In 1996, Diggs originated the role of the landlord Benny in Jonathan Larson's Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning Rent. After Rent he appeared as Mr. Black in Andrew Lippa's off-Broadway production of The Wild Party. Diggs also played The Bandleader in the 2002 film version of the long-running Broadway revival of Chicago and filled in as Billy Flynn on Broadway.

E News reports that Prince is set to make a guest star appearance on the FOX comedy NEW GIRL. The legendary singer will play himself on the upcoming Super Bowl episode.

Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, Ailey's 2013-14 Season at New York City Center kicked off December 4th with an Opening Night Gala Benefit hosted by Honorary Co-Chair Gabrielle Union. The event's co-chairs were Simin Allison & in memory, Herb Allison, Kathryn & Kenneth Chenault, Daria L. Foster & Erich J. Wallach, Agnes & Gerald Hassell, Debra L. Lee, and Joan & Sandy Weill. The evening helped raise over $2.4 million for the creation of new works and Alvin Ailey's extensive educational programs for young people, including AileyCamp and scholarships to The Ailey School. Last night, (Sunday, Nov. 17), renowned actor Taye Diggs was spotted partying the night away at Hakkasan Nightclub at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. "The Best Man Holiday" star made his way to the nightlife mecca just after midnight with a group of his New York friends and was said to be celebrating a close friends birthday.

BEST MAN HOLIDAY, originally projected to bring in $20 million, more than tripled the first film's opening of $9 million in 1999.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Malcolm D. Lee's seasonal comedy THE BEST MAN HOLIDAY beat THOR: THE DARK WORLD at Friday's box office by a hair, though BEST MAN HOLIDAY's top spot will likely be short-lived.
