Cafe Carlyle will welcomed back iconic R&B songstress Bettye LaVette last night for a two-week engagement, January 27-February 7, where she will showcase her inimitable style, gut wrenching vocals and songs from throughout her five decade career, as well as the world premiere of selections from her new album, Worthy.The album, which Cherry Red releases on January 27, features Bettye's reflective, visceral interpretations of classic tracks by Bob Dylan, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones amongst others.

Steve Lippia has become one of the most prominent, in-demand vocalists and has quickly established his place among the finest interpreters of 'standards' and traditional pop music in the nation. Steve's youthful, energetic talent and powerful show creates a perfect blend of 'classic' with 'today'. His show introduces a new generation to this timeless music, while appealing to long-time listeners. Steve has headlined in highly successful, extended engagements at the Rio Suites Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and Resorts Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, where SRO audiences lined up more than two hours before show time to vie for seating. He has performed in multiple engagements for Hilton Atlantic City and Casino Windsor, among others.

Paper Mill Playhouse presents its winter comedy, Christopher Durang's Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike will be directed by Don Stephenson. Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike will run eight times a week at the Millburn, New Jersey, theater, now through February 15, 2015. Christine Ebersole has returned to 54 following a sold-out, two-week run of her new show "Big Noise From Winnetka." Ebersole will perform January 21, through the 24th at 7PM.

Lane a six-time Tony award, winning producer with, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder currently running on Broadway sat down with Peter LeDonne and Jamie deRoy at Patsy's Italian Restaurant to discuss his new book "Black Broadway: African Americans on The Great White Way". Black Broadway chronicles the journey of black theatre in America, alongside a running timeline of African-American history.

Stacy Sullivan will reprise 'On the Air,' honoring the legacy of of Marian McPartland, harmonic genius and composer, who created 'Piano Jazz,' the longest running cultural program in the history of National Public Radio. Pioneer Theatre Company will produce the professional North American Premiere of a new musical, The Count of Monte Cristo, by Frank Wildhorn and Jack Murphy in its 2015-2016 season.

Cheyenne Jackson, with stage credits including The Performers, 8, Finian's Rainbow, Damn Yankees and Xanadu; television appearances on 30 Rock, Glee, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Ugly Betty; and film work including Love is Strange, United 93, Price Check and Lola Versus, just made his debut at Cafe Carlyle, continuing through January 24. The two-week engagement, entitled Eyes Wide Open, takes a personal and humorous look at loss, love, revelation and recovery with music ranging from Louis Armstrong to Lady Gaga. Lyrics & Lyricists gets going on the opening show of its 45th season with 'A Good Thing Going: The Stephen Sondheimand Harold Prince Collaboration' continuing tonight, January 12. Marilyn doesn't have to sing "I Love Being Here With You" in New York City anymore. She always would motion for a response after the lyric "I wanna hear you call my name" and the audience would always shout out MARILYN. That song was not in her show. There's no need for MM to ask for recognition in this town. If you don't know that MARILYN means Marilyn Maye you are not a New Yorker. Personally, if I ask someone "when are you seeing Marilyn" and then get a confused look, I immediately know I'm talking to someone who doesn't get it.

Bill Boggs, who has interviewed many of the most notable personalities of our time, had to sit at the other end of the table and be interviewed by Peter LeDonne, whose 970 AM radio program is recorded at Patsy's Italian Restaurant. Boggs, a four time Emmy Award winning TV Host has interviewed cultural icons, presidents, international leaders, business tycoons, writers, athletes,movie stars and celebrity chefs. However, out of those thousands of interviews the interviewee Boggs would probably rate as one of the most interesting. Bill who is also an author an a much in demand speaker, had many tales to share with the radio audience during this lunch time interview, which could well have lasted until dinner time at Patsy's.
