Atlanta Opera to Open 2011-2012 Season With Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor

On November 12 at 8:00 p.m., The Atlanta Opera opens its 2011-12 season with Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor. To celebrate Opening Night, and the Company's fifth season at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, patrons are invited to attend an Opening Night Party, immediately following the performance.

The Atlanta Opera's Zurich General Director Dennis Hanthorn announced today the details of the company's 2011-2012 season, celebrating its fifth anniversary in the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, and welcoming Arthur Fagen as its Music Director

The Collegiate Chorale, led by Music Director James Bagwell, presented the World Premiere Two Act Concert Version of Ricky Ian Gordon and Michael Korie's musical version of Nobel Prize-winner John Steinbeck's epic Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, The Grapes of Wrath, on March 22, 2010 at Carnegie Hall. Conducted by Ted Sperling, the performance featured Jane Fonda as the narrator.
