In 2010 Jimmy Kimmel declared November 17 National Unfriend Day, "NUD," a national holiday dedicated to giving Facebook users a guilt-free opportunity to "unfriend" people who aren't actually friends. In honor of the 3rd annual "NUD" celebration, Kimmel is encouraging viewers to evaluate their Facebook "friendships" and unfriend those unworthy of friend status.

This weekend, ABC-7 will air a half-hour special on the best of the new Broadway season, including AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE, ANNIE, CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, CHAPLIN, DEAD ACCOUNTS, THE HEIRESS and THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD. The special will air Saturday, November 10 from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof will open at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street) on Thursday, January 17, 2013. Previews will begin Tuesday, December 18. On Friday night "Jimmy Kimmel Live" concluded its week-long run of shows from Brooklyn's Harvey Theater at BAM - Brooklyn Academy of Music. In an effort to support the thousands of people still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Sandy, "JKL" and ABC will auction off Kimmel's custom-made, Brooklyn-themed desk signed by late-night talk show hosts David Letterman, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel.

The American Film Institute (AFI) announced today that HITCHCOCK, starring Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock, Academy Award winner Helen Mirren as his wife, Alma Reville, Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh, Jessica Biel as Vera Miles and James D'Arcy as Anthony Perkins, will have its World Premiere today, November 1, as the Opening Night Gala of AFI FEST 2012 presented by Audi.

Fandango reports that superheroes are leading the field for this year's most in-demand Hollywood Halloween costumes, with "The Avengers" claiming four of the top five spots among men, according to the company's recent moviegoer survey. The nation's leading moviegoer destination polled more than 1,000 fans on the top movie-inspired Halloween costumes from both 2012 releases as well classic and iconic films. A majority of movie fans responding to the survey said they plan to dress up in a costume during Halloween week.
