A Streetcar Named Desire starring Blair Underwood as Stanley, Nicole Ari Parker as Blanche, Daphne Rubin-Vega as Stella and Wood Harris as Mitch, began previews for its limited Broadway run at the Broadhurst Theatre on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, and celebrates its opening tonight, Sunday April 22, 2012. The production will run through July 22, 2012.

The STARZ Original Series BOSS is set to premiere its second season on Friday, August 17th at 10pm ET/PT. Joining the ensemble cast as series regulars this season are Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening, 'Glee') as Ian Todd, a smart and ambitious young advisor to Kane.

Nominations in 14 categories were announced today by the Off-Broadway League for the 2012 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. San Francisco's African-American Shakespeare Company has announced that due to unforeseen circumstances the company's World Premiere of Nambi E. Kelley's, XTIGONE, directed by Darrel V. Jones, has been postponed, and removed from African-American Shakespeare Company's current season schedule. A RAISIN IN THE SUN, Lorraine Hansberry's timeless play about a 1950s-era Chicago family longing for a better life, will be the third and final production of the company's 2011-12 season.

Stephen Byrd, Alia Jones and Anthony Lacavera just announced that Ms. Carmen DeLavallade will join the cast of their much anticipated production of A Streetcar Named Desire. Ms. DeLavallade will join the cast led by Blair Underwood as Stanley, Nicole Ari Parker as Blanche, Daphne Rubin-Vega as Stella and Wood Harris as Mitch, completing the cast of Broadway's A Streetcar Named Desire. This production of A Streetcar Named Desire will take over the Broadhurst Theatre beginning its limited run on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 and will celebrate its opening Sunday, April 22, 2012.

According to Deadline.com, theatre veterans Jonathan Groff and Sanaa Lathan will guest star on the upcoing second season of Starz's 'Boss.' Lathan will play 'Mona, Kane's incorruptible new chief of staff, who becomes an obsession for him,' and Groff 'Ian Todd, a smart and ambitious staffer in Kane's office who steps into the void Ezra Stone (Martin Donovan) has left to offer astute council to Kane.'

Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post today that the upcoming revival of A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, which has been hunting for a theatre since this past summer, will take Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre (which had been booked by REBECCA up until yesterday) for a Spring 2012 opening.

Though some shows headed for Broadway are set for theatres without stars, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE is in just the opposite position: in spite of hiring Daphne Rubin-Vega, Wood Harris, Blair Underwood and Nicole Ari Parker, the production has yet to book a Broadway house.
