Berkeley Repertory Theatre has announced that award-winning British actress Samantha Barks will star in the world premiere of AMELIE, A NEW MUSICAL directed by Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?).

Acclaimed songwriter Scott Alan returns to London for a two-week residency at The Hippodrome Casino. Featuring a different guest each night, the nine concerts will celebrate Alan's work in nights filled with heartfelt songs, the stories behind them and many surprises.

New York's flagship public media station THIRTEEN will air a special re-broadcast of the famed London LES MISERABLES 25th Anniversary Concert this Sunday evening, June 14 beginning at 7 pm.  The concert, which celebrated the original London production's 25th Anniversary, took place on October 3, 2010 at the O2 Arena and starred Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean.  Boe will reprise his legendary performance beginning September 1 in Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new Broadway revival of LES MISERABLES at the Imperial Theatre.  The concert will also be broadcast on WLIW21 on Long Island Monday, June 15 at 7 pm and Saturday, June 20 on NJTV at 7 pm.

Acclaimed North American composer Scott Alan makes his Spanish Concert debut in Barcelona alongside more than twenty performers, in a unique evening that will have Daniel Angles as an artistic director. Check out the performance from Elena Medina below!

The pair recently released a concept recording of four songs written for a theoretical RATATOUILLE musical, with visuals from the film to go with them. They explicitly state, however, that they did not do this with Disney's sanction, so this seems to be more a strong hint to Disney than an assignment. Check out the live studio recording below!

The Public Theater just opened George Brant's Grounded, directed by two-time Tony Award winner Julie Taymor and featuring Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway. Grounded began previews on Tuesday, April 7 and will now run an additional week through Sunday, May 24 in the Anspacher Theater. BroadwayWorld brings you photos from opening night below!

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Berkeley Repertory Theatre will kick off its 48th season with the world premiere of Amelie, an inventive and captivating new musical directed by Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) written by Craig Lucas (Prelude to a Kiss). BroadwayWorld has just confirmed that Les Miserables star Samantha Barks recently led a recent NYC workshop of the new musical. Casting for the Berkeley run has not yet been announced. Based on Boris Pasternak's Nobel Prize-winning 20th-century epic Russian masterpiece, Doctor Zhivago is directed by Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys), with a book by Michael Weller (Ragtime), music byLucy Simon (The Secret Garden), lyrics by Michael Korie (Grey Gardens) and Amy Powers (Ella Enchanted), and choreography by Kelly Devine (Rocky). The names of the more than 20 Spanish Guests performers that will sing the songs of American composer Scott Alan in his debut concert in Barcelona have been announced. 'Scott Alan: Barcelona & Friends' will take place on Monday 11th May 2015 at Barcelona´s L´Auditori (Sala Oriol Martorell) under the artistic direction of Daniel Angles.

This fifth episode, directed by Robbie Rozelle, features GIANT's Katie Thompson singing 'Anything Worth Holding On To' from Alan's album 'What I Wanna Be When I Grow Up'.

A new single, 'Find the Best of Me,' performed by Grammy Nominee and Broadway favourite, Cheyenne Jackson, is available today, 16th February in support of amfAR.

Scott Alan made his concert debut at 54 Below just last week on, January 19th with a slew of Broadway all-star talent, including 2014 Tony winners Jessie Mueller and James Monroe Iglehart, Tony nominees Joshua Henry andChad Kimball, as well as Lilla Crawford, Erin Davie, Mykal Kilgore, Natalie Weiss, Christine Dwyer, Julian Cihi, Danny Calvert, Elizabeth Stanley, Abby Mueller, Christiane Noll, Jessica Phillips, Lisa Brescia, Ashley Brown, Eden Espinosa, Marcus Paul James, Julia Murney, Marissa Rosen, Christina Cataldo and Galyana Castillo joined Alan.
