On October 17, The Skin Cancer Foundation held its 21st annual Gala at Cipriani 25 Broadway in New York City. The Champions for Change Gala is the Foundation's signature fundraising event, and $550,000 was raised to support the organization's research initiatives, educational materials and awareness programs.

GLAAD, the nation's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization, hosted the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards at the New York ceremony on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the New York Marriot Marquis. MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts, himself newly married to Patrick Abner, performed a brief wedding ceremony at the Beach reception, which was attended by the grooms' mothers and about 100 friends and other family members. Broadway Producer-director Richard Jay-Alexander sang Frank Loesser's 'What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?' at the ceremony along with custom lyrics and we've got the footage.
