Comic-Con 2009 soared back into the San Diego Convention Center July 23-26 -- with the popular Preview Night on Wednesday, July 22 -- Comic-Con's 40th was the the biggest and best convention ever. Variety reports that stars Hugh Jackman, Rachel Weisz and Robert Pattinson have been cast in the period drama 'Unbound Captives,' with actress Madeleine Stowe making her directorial debut from a script she wrote.

Variety is reporting that stage and screen star Michael Sheen has joined the 'Twilight' film series. Summit Entertainment has tapped Sheen for the sequel 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon,' which began shooting last month in Vancouver.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2008 were presented on Sunday, February 22, 2009, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center, and televised live by the ABC Television Network. The Oscar presentation was televised live in more than 200 countries worldwide.

Variety is reporting that Summit Entertainment has officially greenlit the third film in the Twilight Saga, 'Eclipse' with a release date of June 30, 2010. Production begins shortly on the Twilight Saga's New Moon, the second film. Chris Weitz replaced Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke on 'New Moon' with lead actors Robert Pattinson as Edward, Kristen Stewart as Bella and Taylor Lautner as Jacob, reprising their roles.

EQUUS concluded its 22-week engagement as scheduled on Broadway on February 8th, 2009. The play opened in September 2008 at the Broadhurst Theatre, marking the Broadway debut of Daniel Radcliffe. Mr. Radcliffe starred in the revival of Peter Shaffer's play opposite Tony Award winner Richard Griffiths ('The History Boys'). The big question was always 'who'll replace Daniel on Broadway?'
