Garden Theatre and the Orlando Ballet present Arcadian Broad's Beauty & The Beast on November 19, 2016 at 2pm and November 20 at 2pm as part of the Garden Theatre's 2016-2017 Live Season.

The New Amsterdam Singers, led by music director Clara Longstreth, will present O Magnum Mysterium: Renaissance and Contemporary Meditations on the Season, a program of mostly a cappella sacred choral music, including works by Tomas Luis de Victoria, Jacob Handl, William Byrd, J.S. Bach, and contemporary composers Abbie Betinis, Stephen Paulus, Eric Whitacre, and Morten Lauridsen.

American Ballet Theatre's 2017 Spring season at the Metropolitan Opera House, May 15-July 8, will feature the New York Premiere of Alexei Ratmansky's Whipped Cream and the Company Premiere of Ratmansky's Souvenir d'un lieu cher, it was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie.  

Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced the appointment of six new members, Kelsey Hellebuyck, Emily Mistretta, Gustavo Ribeiro, Amaya Rodriguez, James Rogers, Kevin Wilson, and three new apprentices, Ivan Braatz, Sarah Joan Smith, and Katherine Sawicki to the Kansas City Ballet Company.

Local artists announce a benefit performance Beautiful Together, an artistic journey toward hope at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, in the Walt Disney Theater at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts with all proceeds going to OneOrlando Fund. LILLIANA HAGERMAN and LAMIN PEREIA DOS SANTOS of the Kansas City Ballet will appear as guest artists with the Allen Civic Ballet and Allen Philharmonic at the Performing Arts Center at Allen High School in Allen, Texas on May 19, 2016. This will be a joint performance of the Allen Civic Ballet and the Allen Philharmonic featuring Ms. Hagerman and Mr. Pereia in Act II of Cinderella. Ms. Hagerman and Mr. Pereia will also be teaching master classes as part of this engagement.

In the television category of Awards or Event Special, Tony Award winner Derek McLane received two nominations, including his work as production designer for the 2015 OSCARS and NBC's THE WIZ LIVE.

Simon Wexler of American Ballet Theatre will be on the faculty for the Shreveport Dance Academy's Summer Program from July 20-24, 2015. The Shreveport Dance Academy is located in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts celebrated its highly anticipated grand premiere with the Broadway & Beyond opening night concert-the first performance to be held in its new Walt Disney Theater.

Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced the appointment of three new members of the artistic staff: Grace Holmes as the new Director of Kansas City Ballet School, Kristi Capps as the new Ballet Master and Anthony Krutzkamp as newly created position of Manager of KCB II. Carney also announced eleven new members of the Company, increasing the Company from 28 to 29 members for the 2014-2015 season. He also announced the appointment of four new KCB II dancers, which stands at six members. Carney also announced the creation of a Trainee Program with five students, two selected from Kansas City Ballet School.

The Reel 13 April schedule opens on April 5 with The Big Country, William Wyler's tale of two feuding ranching families in the American West, for which Burl Ives won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Ballet San Jose Artistic Director José Manuel Carreño and Associate Artistic Director Raymond Rodriguez have announced that former Zurich Ballet Soloist Nathan Chaney will join Ballet San Jose as Principal Dancer effective January 13 as the Company prepares to open its 2014 repertory season—the first under the artistic leadership of Mr. Carreño—with a program of ballets by Ohad Naharin, George Balanchine and Jorma Elo February 14-16. Casting for the first two weeks of American Ballet Theatre's 2013 Spring Season at the Metropolitan Opera House was recently announced by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie. The season will begin tonight, Monday, May 13 at 6:30 P.M. with the Company's Opening Night Gala, featuring a piece d'occasion choreographed by Marcelo Gomes, set to the second movement of Beethoven's Seventh Symphony and danced by Julie Kent and Roberto Bolle.

CARMINA BURANA ran from April 12-April 14th at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre. It was by far the best theatrical experience bringing together two of Orlando's best. CARMINA BURANA featured Orlando Ballet and the choir and orchestra of the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park. Choreographed by Robert Hill and Conducted by John V. Sinclair, the production featured 150 chorus members, the full company of Orlando Ballet, and more than a 50 person orchestra.
