In the quest to be more environmentally responsible in the production of entertainment, the Broadway theatre community announced today the launch of BROADWAY GOES GREEN, an industry-wide initiative to reduce Broadway's carbon footprint, adopt environmentally sustainable practices and promote environmental awareness in the creation and
presentation of Broadway shows.
Finborough Theatre Announces All Star Lineup for West End Premiere of 'Ordinary Days'

Finborough Theatre's upcoming production of Ordinary Days - the musical's European premiere - will feature Julie Atherton, (Kate Monster in Avenue Q on the West End) as Claire; Kenneth Avery-Clark (of the West End's The Producers and The Drowsy Chaperone) as Jason; Hayley Gallivan (Follies in Concert at the London Palladium) as Deb; and Lee William-Davis (most recently of Mamma Mia! and Mary Poppins in the West End) as Warren.
Broadway League Announces Recent Spending Reports

The latest biennial economic impact study by The Broadway League, 'Broadway's Economic Contribution to New York City: 2006-2007 Season,' reveals that the impact derived from Broadway-related spending has hit $5.1 billion - a 44% increase from the $3.5 billion in impact contributed in the 1998-1999 season. The Broadway industry also supported an estimated 44,000 full-time jobs during the 2006-2007 season.

League Urges FCC to Reject Wireless Device Frequency Plan

The League of American Theatres and Producers, Inc., the trade association for the Broadway industry, has joined with major sports leagues, television broadcasters, and houses of worship in a campaign to urge the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to reject plans to allow portable 'white space devices' to operate in frequencies used by wireless microphones.
