In a much heralded return engagement, The COPA Palm Spings presents Chicago music and comedy legends Amy Armstrong and Freddy Allen for two performances, December 27 at 8:00 pm and December 28 at 7:30 pm in very special holiday show. Amy and Freddy have graced the stages coast-to-coast, in venues both large and small, and in over 20 countries with their one-of-a-kind wit and musical prowess. They have had the pleasure of opening and sharing the spotlight with Kathy Griffin, Mary Wilson and the Supremes, Phyllis Diller, Bea Arthur, Jennifer Holiday andJudy Gold, to name a few. In 2009, Amy & Freddy were featured on national television on Entertainment Tonight as part of their work with the NBC reality show 'America's Got Talent. They are also the proud multi-recipients of both the Gay Chicago Magazine 'After Dark' and Chicago Free Press 'Pressie' awards. I had the chance to chat with Amy and Freddy prior to their sell-out July performances at The Copa and I thought is was worth sharing again - here are a few excerpts from that conversation:

Funny lady Kathleen Madigan returns to The Ridgefield Playhouse tonight, October 18, at 8 p.m. for another laugh-out-loud show.

Kathleen Madigan has won both the American Comedy Award and the Phyllis Diller Award for 'Best Female Comedian.' Described as the 'funniest woman doing stand-up right now', Madigan brings her talents to the State Theatre stage tonight, October 17th.

Wagner College Theatre opens their 2014-15 Season with one of America's great musicals, Hello, Dolly! from October 1-12. Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the musical's Broadway premiere, the Wagner production is directed and choreographed by Broadway veteran Norb Joerder (WCT's Little Women) with musical direction by James Higgins (WCT's The Drowsy Chaperone).

Over her 25-year career, she has performed on nearly every standup television show. Her last hour-long special, Gone Madigan, premiered on Showtime. To make it a great night on the town, Bissell House (378 Main St., Ridgefield) will pour a complimentary glass of house wine or draught beer with dinner the night of this show when tickets are presented. This event is sponsored by Bissell House and is part of the Clark Construction Comedy Series.

A new film about comedian and Broadway veteran Phyllis Diller is in the works from producers Shaun Redick and Ray Mansfield.

On Sunday, September 21st at 5 PM, and Monday, September 22nd at 7 PM, the Possum Point Players (PPP) and director Donna deKuyper will conduct audition for an original Christmas show "Hollywood Holiday." The show will be performed December 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14.

RiverCenter will hold its ninth annual Single Ticket Saturday event today, August 16th from 10am to 3pm. Last year hundreds of patrons enjoyed Single Ticket Saturday and this year's season is bigger than ever.
