Following a sold-out and critically acclaimed run at the Menier Chocolate Factory, the theatre is delighted to announce its "breathtakingly funny" (Guardian) production of FORBIDDEN BROADWAY will transfer to the West End's Vaudeville Theatre on Tuesday 9th September - 22nd November, with press night on Monday 15th September at 7 pm.

The cast of Gerard Alessandrini's FORBIDDEN BROADWAY COMES OUT SWINGING! records the original cast CD for DRG Records today at Avatar Studios. Produced by Hugh Fordin, the release date is soon to be announced. This CD marks Forbidden Broadway's 12th cast recording with DRG Records. Featured on the original cast recording are cast members Carter Calvert, Scott Richard Foster, Mia Gentile and Marcus Stevens, with David Caldwell on piano. The show is currently playing at the Davenport Theatre (354 West 45th Street - between 8th and 9th Avenues). As BroadwayWorld previously reported, over the course of the spring, Alessandrini had planned on adding new material to reflect the season's openings. Now, the time as come to unveil the new edition, FORBIDDEN BROADWAY COMES OUT SWINGING! According to The New York Times, this version will begin performances March 17.

YPO Voice Competition Awards $46K in Prizes to Young Singers

Young Patronesses of the Opera (YPO), in conjunction with Florida Grand Opera (FGO), held the 27th edition of YPO Voice Competition, awarding $46,000 in prizes to young singers from around the country. The Finals Concert and Awards Ceremony were held at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County on Saturday, April 27, 2013.

FORBIDDEN BROADWAY Ends Off-Broadway Run 4/28

There are only a few more performances to catch for Gerard Alessandrini's FORBIDDEN BROADWAY: ALIVE AND KICKING! at the 47th Street Theatre (304 West 47th Street). The smash musical, which received unanimous raves from critics and audiences alike, broke all box-office records at the 47th Street Theatre and won spots on the Top Ten Lists of Time Magazine and the Associated Press, will begin its hiatus on Sunday, April 28, in order to make room for The Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre's own season, as required by the show's lease agreement with the theatre.
