CASA 0101 Theater, Josefina Lopez, Artistic Director, continues the theater's 15th 'Quiceañera' Anniversary celebration by presenting the World Premiere production of AN L.A. JOURNEY - The Story of Lorenzo Alfredo, co-written by Emmanuel Deleage and Lorenzo Alfredo and directed by Emmanuel Deleage. The production will be presented on the theater's Main Stage located at 2102 East First Street (at St. Louis Street), Boyle Heights, CA 90033 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and on Sundays at 5:00 p.m., May 8 (Press Opening Night) - June 7, 2015. The Joyce Theater has announced an added performance to the NYC premiere engagement of Wendy Whelan's acclaimed Restless Creature, presented by The Joyce – in its intimate Chelsea home – from May 26-31. The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus, announces the casting of the world premiere of Crossing, an opera by Matthew Aucoin, directed by Diane Paulus, featuring the chamber orchestra A Far Cry, produced in association with Music-Theatre Group.

Park Avenue Armory has commissioned dance pioneer Reggie (Regg Roc) Gray and visionary director Peter Sellars to create a performance piece that evolves the tradition of flex, the Brooklyn-born street dance. Characterized by sharp, rhythmic contortion, pausing, snapping, gliding, bone-breaking, and animated showmanship, the flex form evolved from the Jamaican bruk-up style popular in the dance halls and reggae clubs of Brooklyn in the 1990s. Opening today, March 25 and marking the first major presentation of the Armory's 2015 artistic season, FLEXN transforms the dance from its individual, combative style to create a collaborative work of social commentary inspired by both personal experience and current events. A series of public discussions and education initiatives complement the presentation.

Carnegie Hall presents a rare performance of Karlheinz Stockhausen's powerful and influential 1968 modern vocal work Stimmung by the ensemble Theatre of Voices in Zankel Hall tonight, February 21 at 7:30 p.m. Theatre of Voices-comprised of singers Else Torp, Louise Skovbaech, Randi Pontoppidan, Wolodymyr Smishkewych, Chris Watson, and Jakob Bloch Jespersen-perform Stockhausen's seminal work for six amplified voices, the first major Western piece of music to utilize overtone singing, in which the note being sung is manipulated by the singer to produce more than one pitch at once. The technique is commonly found in Eastern singing styles, such as Mongolian and Tuvan throat singing.
