It's been announced today that Olivier Award winner and Miranda star Patricia Hodge will join the cast of Peter Nichols' funny and moving masterpiece A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. Hodge will star opposite Toby Stephens (Oslo, Lost in Space) and Claire Skinner (Outnumbered, The Father). The production opens at London's Trafalgar Studios on 21 September (Press Night 2 October).

On Sunday 23 June, LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) held its first biennial fundraising gala, hosted by LAMDA President and alumnus Benedict Cumberbatch CBE and LAMDA Chairman, The Rt. Hon Shaun Woodward. VIP guests, LAMDA alumni and current students enjoyed an evening of entertainment at the drama school's West London campus. £230,000 was raised, which will support LAMDA's ongoing work to ensure a wider group of young people can experience world-class Conservatoire training.

Mousetrap Theatre Projects (MTP) celebrated its 21st Anniversary on Sunday night with a star-studded Gala at the Prince of Wales Theatre hosted by Christopher Biggins and Harriet Thorpe with performances from cast members of The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Kiss Me Kate, The Royal Ballet and Dreamgirls. The show also featured star turns from Beau Dermott, Patricia Hodge, Tyrone Huntley, Samantha Spiro, David Suchet, Rachel Tucker and Michael Xavier. The show was followed by an after party at Cafe de Paris with performances from Janie Dee and Clive Rowe.

Nuffield Southampton Theatres, Theatr Clwyd and English Touring Theatre today announce casting for their co-production of Tennessee Williams' masterpiece A Streetcar Named Desire. 2017 RTST Sir Peter Hall Director Award winner Chelsea Walker directs Nicole Agada (Woman/Nurse), Will Bliss (Steve), Dexter Flanders (Mitch), Kelly Gough (Blanche), Amber James (Stella), Patrick Knowles (Stanley), Marai Louis (Eunice) and Joe Manjon (Pablo/Doctor/Paperboy). The second production in the inaugural season at NST City, A Streetcar Named Desire opens at Nuffield Southampton Theatres on 28 March with previews from 23 March, running until 31 March. The production will tour the UK with English Touring Theatre ahead of opening at Theatr Clwyd, where it plays from 15 March until 2 June, before returning to NST City.

Christopher Biggins and Harriet Thorpe host the evening which see's Royal Ballet dancer, Joshua Junker, join cast members of Everybody's Talking About Jamie, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, and Dreamgirls in celebration at the Prince of Wales Theatre on Sunday, 18 March at 7.30pm. West End stars performing on the evening will be David Suchet, Patricia Hodge, Tyrone Huntley, Rachel Tucker and Michael Xavier.
