Almeida Theatre Cast members past and present were out in force to celebrate Michael Attenborough's 11 years as Artistic Director of the Almeida Theatre. On Saturday 13 April, the Almeida Theatre hosted a party at Middle Temple Hall, the very place that saw the first performance of Twelfth Night, to give Michael an amazing send-off. Matilda the Musical, produced by the RSC and running at the Cambridge Theatre, leads the way with ten nominations - the maximum number of eligible awards for a musical this year. These notably include a collective nomination for Best Actress for all four young actresses who play the title role. Amongst other musical theatre productions Ghost The Musical at the Piccadilly Theatre and the National Theatre's London Road have five and four nominations respectively.

Kimberley Walsh will play the role of Princess Fiona in Shrek The Musical from 5 October 2011. Amanda Holden's pregnancy, announced today, means that she performs as Princess Fiona for the final time on Monday 3 October. Kimberley Walsh takes over the role two months earlier than originally planned.
