Stoneham Theatre presents the New England premiere of playwright Thomas Gibbons' UNCANNY VALLEY, a view into the not too distant future when researchers have found a way to extend the human lifespan through artificial intelligence. While it raises more questions than it answers, its rich subtext and the fine work of Nancy E. Carroll and Lewis D. Wheeler combine to make this a compelling piece of theater.

Stoneham Theatre is pleased to announce its Mainstage programming for Season 17. Kicking off the season is the musical murder mystery farce, Lucky Stiff, followed by an exploration of artificial intelligence in the science fiction play Uncanny Valley.

Israeli Stage, sharing the diversity and vitality of Israeli culture through theatre, is proud to announce Season 7! The season will feature two plays presented as Staged Reading in Fall 2016, Olivier Award Nominee Joshua Sobol: In Residence at Israeli Stage in March/April of 2017 and Israeli Stage's Third Full Theatrical Production, Days of Atonement by former Playwright-in-Residence Hanna Azoulay-Hasfari. Dialogue Reflections led by local thinkers, authors and artist will follow all performances.

The Huntington Theatre Company presents the world premiere of I Was Most Alive with You written and directed by Craig Lucas (Prelude to a Kiss at the Huntington and An American in Paris on Broadway) and performed both in English and American Sign Language. RETURN OF THE WINEMAKER: AN IRISH CHRISTMAS COMEDY is a gift of the season from Tir Na Productions. Board President Dalia Cahana-Amitay says, 'This upcoming season we are thrilled to introduce to our audiences the outstanding works of female playwrights, who present a new, less known female voice of Israeli culture.' The season will feature Israeli Stage's Second Full Theatrical Production - Anat Gov's Oh God, Hanna Azulay Hasafri: In Residence at Israeli Stage and three new plays presented as Staged Readings.

Superlative acting, intense staging, and timeless themes are the hallmarks of THE NEW ELECTRIC BALLROOM, Enda Walsh's 2010 Obie Award-winning play now receiving its New England Premiere at Gloucester Stage Company under the direction of Interim Artistic Director Robert Walsh. Its setting in a small fishing village on the west coast of Ireland permeates the story with indigenous peculiarities, but resonates with the realities of life in any little coastal community where gossip and fish tales are the order of the day.
