Capital Stage presents the Sacramento Premiere of The Other Place by Sharr White. Producing Artistic Director Michael Stevenson will direct the Sacramento Premiere, and will feature local favorites Melinda Parrett and Capital Stage Co-Founder Jonathan Rhys Williams. Performances will run from May 1 through June 2, 2019 with a Press Opening on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 8 pm.

Capital Stage presents the Sacramento Premiere of the 2017 Pulitzer Prize Winning play Sweat by Lynn Nottage . Set in Reading, Pennsylvania, in the face of the 2008 Economic Crash, Sweat has been described as a powerful and emotional look at identity, race, economy and humanity. Sweat will be directed by Michael Stevenson and is the second production of Capital Stage's 2018/19 Season: #SearchingForAmerica. Performances will run from October 17 - November 18, 2018 with a Press Opening on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 8:00 pm.

Capital Stage presents the California Premiere of The Thanksgiving Play by Larissa FastHorse. This satirical comedy follows four well-meaning white artists attempting to devise a politically correct Thanksgiving play for Native American Heritage Month - to be performed for school children. One artist's career hangs on the line, dependent on this play's success...or failure. Will they do it? Should they do it? The Thanksgiving Play will be directed by Producing Artistic Director Michael Stevenson and is the seventh and final production of Capital Stage's 2017/18 Season: Future Tense. Performances will run from June 20 - July 22, 2018

Capital Stage presents Stuping F##king Bird by Aaron Posner, the irreverent adaptation of Chekov's classic The Seagull, originally comissioned and first performed by Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington, DC in 2013. Michael Stevenson, Capital Stage Producing Artistic Director, will direct this Sacramento Premiere which will feature a powerhouse cast of local favorites including Brittni Barger, Jason Kuykendall and Capital Stage Co-Founder Peter Mohrmann. Bird will be the fifth production of Capital Stage's 2016-17 Season: Love + War, and will run from May 3 - June 4, 2017 with a Press Opening on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 8pm.
