The Drama League announced today that they will honor Golden Globe Nominee and Emmy Award winner Neil Patrick Harris at the 30th Annual Musical Celebration of Broadway, to be held on Monday evening, February 3, 2014 at the famed Pierre Hotel (2 East 61st Street). The black-tie gala, which features dozens of stars from Hollywood and Broadway in a one-night-only evening of musical selections drawn from Mr. Harris' career in theater, film and television, supports The Drama League's educational initiatives for promising young artists. Following a limited theatrical run in September, Out in the Dark will be available nationwide on DVD November 5th.

92nd Street Y has announced that Jordan Roth, President of Jujamcyn Theaters, continues his popular interview series, 'Broadway Talks with Jordan Roth,' with award winning stage and screen star Cherry Jones tonight, October 27 at 7:30 p.m. Ms. Jones, the Emmy and Tony Award-winning star of '24' and Doubt, will return to the Broadway stage this season as Amanda Wingfield in Tennessee Williams's The Glass Menagerie.

Dmitri Hvorostovsky will sing his first Met performances of the title role in Verdi's Rigolettobeginning November 11, in the first revival of Michael Mayer's hit production, set in the decadent world of 1960s Las Vegas. Matthew Polenzani makes his company role debut as the womanizing Duke, and two rising singers make Met debuts as the innocent Gilda: Russian soprano Irina Lungu and Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva. Spanish conductor Pablo Heras-Casado makes his Met debut leading the revival. The December 7 matinee performance will be broadcast live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network to inaugurate the 83rd season of the popular Saturday broadcast series.

Digital entertainment curator FilmBuff release the rocking documentary BROADWAY IDIOT chronicling the momentous collaboration between rock and roll icons, Green Day and the 'Great White Way' to create American Idiot on Broadway. The film will be released nationwide in theaters and on VOD October 18 with an exclusive theatrical engagement in New York beginning today, October 11th.

Broadway-bound director Michael Mayer was at last night's BIG FISH opening to celebrate with his past colleagues, and while he was there he revealed some of his history with his upcoming show- HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH. He told Richard Ridge: 'In fact, I was the director that John Cameron Mitchell started working with a million years ago on it, but I had a show called Triumph of Love that happened at the same time so I couldn't move on with it. So there is this great feeling of coming full circle.'

Two rising young sopranos will make their Met debuts earlier than originally scheduled when they share the role of Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto later this fall, replacing Aleksandra Kurzak, who has withdrawn due to pregnancy. Russian soprano Irina Lungu will sing the role on November 11, 15, and 18, and Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva will sing the role on November 21, 27, 30, December 4, and at the December 7 matinee. Kurzak is expecting a baby this winter with her partner, tenor Roberto Alagna.

Following a year as a critical darling on the festival circuit, OUT IN THE DARK is finally coming to US theaters today, September 27th.
