A collection of 73 portraits of Frank Dunphy by Damien Hirst, known as The Wolseley Drawings, has been generously donated by Frank Dunphy through the Cultural Gifts Scheme and allocated to the British Museum.

Tim Crouch's play AN OAK TREE is a unique performance experience that revolves around a traveling hypnotist who discovers that the volunteer he's called up from the audience for his show is the father of a girl he accidentally killed in a car accident. As Crouch explains, for the grieving father 'nothing now is what it is. It's like he's in a play - but he doesn't know the words or the moves.'

Firehouse Theatre is proud to present the regional premiere of Tim Crouch's play AN OAK TREE. Inspired by the classic Cyrano de Bergerac, Michael Golamco's 'Cowboy vs. Samurai' is not only a tale of misplaced love, it's also an insightful and wonderfully funny meditation on being Asian in middle America, on self-identity, and on the ways we categorize ourselves as well as each other. Pear Theatre's production of 'Cowboy vs. Samurai,' directed by Jeffrey Lo, previews on March 15, with press and Opening Night on Friday, March 16, followed by a champagne gala. The show runs Thursdays through Sundays through April 8. All performances are held at the Pear Theatre, 1110 La Avenida St., Mountain View. An elderly woman has discovered a great passion inside her, and is torn between the reverend who wants her to rejoin her community and the young teacher who wants her to blaze her own trail.

Pear Theatre examines the clashes and conflicts of society and politics with Henrik Ibsen's "An Enemy of the People," adapted by Rebecca Lenkiewicz. When a town's economic future is at stake, its leader would rather vilify a good man and risk harm to its own citizens than do the right thing. "An Enemy of the People" is directed by Ray Renati, and previews on October 19. Press and Opening Night is Friday, October 20, followed by a champagne gala. The National Portrait Gallery, London, has unveiled its most recent commissioned portrait, a painting of Baroness Gail Rebuck by the artist Jennifer McRae, it was announced today, Thursday 14 July 2016. It was commissioned by the Gallery with the support of J. P. Morgan through the Fund for New Commissions.

The publication of the book by Michael Craig 'Encounters with the Russian Avant-garde' marks a milestone in the available material on this subject. It is a companion to the six part Arts Documentary Series: The Russian Avant-Garde 'Revolution or Renaissance' - Copernicus Films The book is not only an account or explanation of this phenomenon but to be more specific an 'encounter.' The title reflects an active relationship: firstly through the experience of living in Moscow for many years plus a direct encounter with the buildings, architecture and the very territory in which the Russian Avant-garde arose and still exists today. The full colour plates and diagrams enhance the text creating a rich and detailed introduction to The Russian avant-garde of the 1920's and 1930s, featuring figures such as: Mayakovsky, Kandinsky, Malevich, Alexander Rodchenko, Meyerhold and many others. After a decade working in the film and television industry in the UK, Michael Craig traveled to Moscow in 1995 to make films and write where he has lived and worked ever since. He made the first documentary film in the series 'Alexander Rodchenko and the Russian Avant-garde' in 1999 which premiered at the Milan International Film Festival (MIFF) and was shown on British Television.
