Following a sold-out run at Dixon Place, the limited 12- week engagement of the critically-acclaimed new play The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey officially opened last night, July 27, 2015, at theWestside Theatre (407 West 43 Street). THE ABSOLUTE BRIGHTNESS OF LEONARD PELKEY, the much talked-about new play written and performed by James Lecesne, will have scenic design by Jo Winiarski, lighting design by Matt Richards, sound design by Christian Frederickson, projection design by Aaron Rhyne, original animation & photography by Matthew Sandager, and costumes by Paul Marlow. The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced today that WGN America's critically acclaimed drama “Manhattan,” created by Sam Shaw and directed by Emmy Award-winning director Thomas Schlamme, has been honored with a 67th Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Main Title Design.

Produced by Lionsgate Television, Skydance Television and Tribune Studios, 'Manhattan' will begin production on its second season in New Mexico in April for a 2015 debut on WGN America.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Second Stage Theatre's production of Terrence McNally's play, Lips Together, Teeth Apart, directed by Peter DuBois, is canceled tonight, November 19, due to an actor illness. A production representative confirmed that the show was also canceled last night, and today's matinee was canceled following the first act.

New York's television, film and theatrical celebrities will take their place behind the bar at the annual 'Stockings with Care Celebrity Bartending Night' in New York City on Monday, November 17th at Hudson Station Bar and Grill (440 Ninth Avenue between 34th and 35th Streets) from 7pm to 11pm to raise money for the not-for-profit organization. Stockings with Care provides holiday gifts for children whose families live in homeless shelters or are in jeopardy of becoming homeless.
