With rehearsals now underway for the new Broadway production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary seven-time Tony Award-winning musical, EVITA, the Marquis Theatre Box Office (1535 Broadway - entrance on 46th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue) just opened this week. The musical stars Olivier Award-winning Argentinean actress Elena Roger making her Broadway debut as Eva Perón, world renowned music artist Ricky Martin as Che and Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris as Juan Perón. The cast will also feature Christina DeCicco as the alternate for Eva Perón (Weds eve; Sat mat), Max Von Essen as Magaldi and Rachel Potter as the Mistress. The cast is featured in the upcoming issue of Vanity Fair, and you can check out a photo from the magazine below, as featured on the show's Facebook page!

Though the producers of GLEE are minimizing the themed episodes this season, they have a Spanish/Latin-themed episode coming up, guest-starring Ricky Martin. Naya Rivera, who plays Santana, was particularly excited about being able to perform with the Grammy-winner, as she told MTV at the SAG awards. Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary seven-time Tony Award-winning musical, EVITA, will feature Christina DeCicco (Glinda in Wicked, Sister Act) as the 'Eva Peron' alternate when the show opens this Spring n Broadway. DeCicco will play 'Eva' on Wednesday evening and Saturday matinee performances- with the exception of Wed. March 14 and Wed. April 4, when Elena Roger will play both matinee and evening performances.

For 16 nights, the series is exploring the best of the golden age of musical standards through to today's most dynamic songwriting. The New Yorker today features an article that highlights the favorite albums of Broadway veteran Alec Baldwin, which feature the musical of musical theatre legend Stephen Sondheim. Baldwin writes: 'Stephen Sondheim is responsible for many of the greatest musicals of the past half century; this odd, ultimately haunting collection of set pieces is my favorite. Take your pick between the original recording, with the great Victor Garber and Jonathan Hadary, or the 2006 revival with Michael Cerveris and Denis O'Hare. (Honorable mention: the original cast recording of "Les Miserables," with the remarkable Colm Wilkinson.)'

The Public Theater will continue the 2011-2012 Public Forum season in February with a night of conversation and songs featuring Stew, Heidi Rodewald and Michael Cerveris. This Public Forum event will coincide with the new musical, The Total Bent, premiering in February as part of the Public Lab series. This intimate evening featuring three great singer-songwriters will take place on Monday, February 27 at 9:30 p.m. at Joe's Pub. Member tickets, priced at $15, are on sale now. Music superstar RickyMartin will soon star as Che alongside Elena Roger and Michael Cerveris in the upcoming Broadway revival of EVITA, ans Martin revealed to V Magazine that he's excited to take on the character. Martin told V: 'Che is a really cool character and you can do so much with him. The director said, 'I don't want you to just be Che Guevara. Let's take it to another level. One night you can be him, but the next night I want you to be the taxi driver, the next evening the bartender. Literally, be the voice of the people.' So I won't get bored, that's for sure.'

Broadway-bound Ricky Martin will travel to GLEE's McKinley High to play 'the hottest Spanish teacher ever in the history of Ohio,' in an upcoming episode. Matthe Morrison recently told Access Hollywood that Martin will take on LMFAO's 'I'm Sexy and I Know It' in the episode.
