Musical Theatre West continues its tradition of presenting Broadway's best on the West Coast with four shows in the 2015-2016 season.

BLOOD Brothers returns to The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury, nearly 30 years after it premiered there.

Oakland will be bustling this September when the students return to their dormitories to begin a new year of study. During this time, from September 3 through 19, PICT Classic Theatre will present Educating Rita by Willy Russell, which was selected, in part, so that PICT can bid the University of Pittsburgh a fond farewell before leaving the Stephen Foster Memorial in 2016.

ANDREA MARCOVCCI - the singer and actress hailed as "torch singer, spellbinder, heart-breaker" by People - will debut at 54 Below this fall for two shows only on November 17 and 18 at 7:00 PM  ~ the second night is her birthday celebration! This marks the east coast debut of Let's Get Lost.

JACK will present the acclaimed performance collective, Sister Sylvester, with their new work, They Are Gone But Here Must I Remain which will preview on Thursday, September 3rd and  open on Friday, September 4th at JACK (505 1/2 Waverly Ave in Brooklyn). The company's New York premiere will run through September 19th. They Are Gone But Here Must I Remain, a multi-faceted piece, directed by Kathryn Hamilton, examines the ties between art and rebellion. The New York Times chose Sister Sylvester's recent work, Dead Behind These Eyes as a critic's pick and Time Out called their The Maids' The Maids "genuinely subversive." They Are Gone But Here I Must Remain, will be performed September 3rd, open on September  4th and continue September  5th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 17th, 18th and 19th at 8PM. The hilarious story of two con men, a beautiful woman and the elite of the French Riviera collide in a sexy and irreverent farce opening this week at Hackmatack Playhouse in Berwick.

What is the value of an education? Does consumerism closet society's need to connect with art and literature, a "something more" to be experienced in the world than merely a career? Stage Door Theatre Company at Third Avenue Playhouse revisits these questions in Educating Rita, a 1983 play written by Willy Russell. Many theatergoers may remember the 1983 award-winning film starring Michael Caine and Julie Walters, although the original Russell play has recently been revived in Chichester, England this spring.

The Daily Mail reported today that James McAvoy and Emily Blunt, who voiced the title charcters of GNOMEO AND JULIET are hoping to play the gnomes in the upcoming sequel to the movie, SHERLOCK GNOMES. Both have been offered the roles, but deals have yet to be finalized.

A thrilling new production of Jim Cartwright's much-loved The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice opens at Birmingham Repertory Theatre and West Yorkshire Playhouse this spring. Noises Off, by Michael Frayn, is playing at Center for the Arts Theatre. Directed by Dan Schuster, the comedic farce Noises Off is the final production of the season.

The Public Theater announced a one-week extension today for George Brant's Grounded, directed by two-time Tony Award winner Julie Taymor and featuring Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway. Grounded began previews on Tuesday, April 7 and will now run an additional week through Sunday, May 24 in the Anspacher Theater, with an official press opening on Sunday, April 26.
