Tonight (24 September), the London cast of MAMMA MIA!, accompanied by a four-piece band, will celebrate the music of Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, better known as ABBA, in a one-off cabaret in the Delfont Room at the Prince of Wales Theatre, in aid of The Make A Difference Trust.

"Into the Woods" is a very grimm musical - the Brothers Grimm, that is. Winner of three Tony Awards, Into the Woods is one of the most popular adaptations of some of the best known folk tales - "Little Red Riding Hood", "Jack and the Beanstalk", "Rapunzel", and "Cinderella." The show's popularity springs from a wonder-filled book by James Lapine and a stellar score by Stephen Sondheim.

The morning after the premiere of Mark Dendy's Whistleblower at Dixon Place comes disturbing news that the military is forcing transwoman and former intelligence office Chelsea Manning to follow male grooming standards while imprisoned. Dendy's timing is lucky. His piece explores Manning's mind as she faces charges for leaking almost one million documents containing evidence of war crimes committed by the United States in Iraq and Afghanistan. Though Manning's case already feels like history in some ways, Dendy reminds us that its personal and political meanings are still urgent.

As a special event this fall, the Hill Country Community Theatre will host actor Lisa Dalton as she presents a new translation of the Anton Chekhov short story The Darling. This unique one-person show, directed by Victor S. Tkachenko, has been performed in cities around the country, including Los Angeles, Fort Worth, and in New York as part of the New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC).
