The 60th anniversary production of Beckett's masterwork Happy Days, newly opened at west London's Riverside Studios, is indistinguishable from the keen eye of its director, Trevor Nunn, who across more than six decades has contributed many of the most significant (not to mention quite a few of the best) productions in my experience. Tickets for the Canadian premiere of Sting's acclaimed musical The Last Ship will go on public sale Monday November 12. Presented by David Mirvish and produced by Karl Sydow and Kathryn Schenker, the limited six-week engagement runs February 9 through March 24, 2019 at Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre.

59E59 Theaters will welcome Dillie Keane (from Fascinating Aida) back to Brits Off Broadway with the US premiere of HELLO DILLIE, written by Ms. Keane and Adele Anderson, and directed by Simon Green and featuring Michael Roulston on piano. RUTHLESS! The Musical's leading man, Peter Land, collapsed onstage at the top of the second act on Friday evening, July 17th. EMT's arrived on the scene and Mr. Land was transported to the hospital where he received emergency surgery for a tear in the aorta. His recovery is going extremely well and he was even discharged from the hospital earlier this week. Paul Pecorino has assumed the role of Sylvia St. Croix and Mr. Land hopes to return to the show in the near future. Author Joel Paley bravely filled in for several performances in the week following the accident (triumphantly, according to all eyewitnesses).

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival, presented by UGG® Australia, will jointly honor Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones with the Cinema Vanguard Award on Thursday, January 29, 2015.

On Tuesday, Nov. 18th, two weeks after Remembrance Day, Toronto's TIFF Bell Lightbox will present one of Canada's greatest ... and rarely seen anti-war movies - Robin Phillips' adaptation of Timothy Findley's The Wars, (a Canadian-West German co-production.) It won the 1978 Governor General's Prize for literature. Findley also wrote the screenplay.

Laura Pedersen, renowned author, is the playwright for Brightness of Heaven no onstage at Cherry Lane Studio Theatre in New York City through December 14th. Broadwayworld.com had the opportunity to interview Pedersen about some of her inspirations, her fascinating career and the show.

According to published reports, stage and screen star Margaret Tyzack died in her home earlier this week, on June 25. She was 79 years old.
