Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announces William Shakespeare's Henry VIII, the first professional Chicago production in 400 years since its debut at Shakespeare's Globe in London. Staged by Artistic Director Barbara Gaines in CST's Courtyard Theater April 30-June 16, 2013, Henry VIII features a celebrated company of artists that includes Gregory Wooddell in the title role and Christina Pumariega as Anne Boleyn. The Acting Company features an ensemble of veteran CST actors which includes Kate Buddeke, David Darlow, Kevin Gudahl, Scott Jaeck, Ora Jones, David Lively and Mike Nussbaum. The Pearl Theatre Company completes its 29th season-the first season in its new home on West 42nd Street-with This Side of Neverland, a duo of one-act plays by J. M. Barrie. Running April 19-May 19, This Side of Neverland will feature J. M. Barrie's Rosalind and The Twelve Pound Look with direction by Artistic Director J. R. Sullivan.

Lincoln Center Theater presents an LCT3 Special Event of Mr. Joy, a 90-minute one-man show written and performed by Daniel Beaty and directed by Sheryl Kaller. The workshop production will be performed tonight, April 9, April 12-15, and April 17-21 at 7:00 pm at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).

Katori Hall's Olivier Award-winning drama The Mountaintop is now playing at the Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater following an acclaimed run at the Alley Theatre in Houston. Obie Award winner Robert O'Hara (Public Theater's Wild with Happy) makes his Arena Stage directorial debut with The Mountaintop, which is produced in association with the Alley Theatre and runs through May 12, 2013 in the Kreeger Theater. 4,000 Miles is right at home at Studio Theatre: a crackling good contemporary script, first class actors, and a top notch production. If we gave out stars at Broadway World, I would give this show five out of five.

South Coast Repertory presents the world premiere of Noah Haidle's Smokefall, a co-production with Goodman Theatre in Chicago, directed by Obie Award-winning director Anne Kauffman.
