Eighty-Eight Entertainment announces that the Chicago Premiere of THE PIANIST OF WILLESDEN LANE, starring internationally-acclaimed storyteller and pianist, Mona Golabek, is extending through July 7 due to popular demand at The Royal George Theatre, 1641 North Halsted Street . The production is adapted and directed by Hershey Felder and based on the book The Children of Willesden Lane by Golabek and Lee Cohen. The Chicago premiere has received rave reviews and follows successful productions in Los Angeles and Boston.

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) regrets to announce that BSO Music Director Marin Alsop has suffered a minor injury to her wrist, following an accident in her hotel in São Paulo, Brazil on Monday night. She has been advised to cancel her conducting engagements with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra for the month of July. Her next concert appearance with the BSO is currently scheduled for September 20, 2013. The BSO will continue to update the public about Marin Alsop's recovery.

Stephen Sondheim's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC - which contestably features his most well-known hit, 'Send in the Clowns' - opens in Pittsburgh this Sunday as part of Opera Theater of Pittsburgh's second-annual SummerFest. On the evening of June 22, I would be doing the third performance of my Don McLean Tribute show at the Metropolitan Room, but I had heard enough buzz about Los Angeles-based, former New Yorker Joanne Tatham that I wanted to catch the last staging of her show Soundtrack, New York: Music from Movies Made in Manhattan at the same venue that afternoon. Hey, a cabaret reviewer's work is never done. Besides, with my gig hours away, I felt my mental state would be best served catching someone else's show rather than climbing the walls thinking about my own. Overall, experiencing Ms. Tatham's performance turned out to be a very good use of my pre-show time.

The Cleveland Orchestra, under the direction of William Eddins, will perform in The Star-Spangled Spectacular brought to you by Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, the Orchestra's 24th annual free community concert in downtown Cleveland, tonight, July 1, on Public Square. The concert will be hosted by ideastream's Dee Perry.
