Seduction. Money. Power. Cross-dressing. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble toasts the 20th anniversary of frequent producing partner Evidence Room, as the two companies band together to present The False Servant by Marivaux. Bart DeLorenzo directs the Los Angeles premiere of a new adaptation by Martin Crimp for tonight's July 3 opening. The Odyssey Theatre has been Evidence Room's artistic home since 2009.

Playwright Wendy Graf (No Word In Guyanese for Me) explores the journey of an 'all American girl' (Annika Marks and Jeanne Syquia, alternating) as she develops from innocent youth to radicalized extremist. Anita Khanzadian directs the world premiere of All American Girl for InterACT Theatre Company, opening tonight, July 3 at the Lounge Theatre in Hollywood.

Rehearsals have started for "Girlfriend" at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre. Featuring a book by Todd Almond and music and lyrics by Matthew Sweet, the rock musical about first love will begin previews on July 12 with the opening slated for July 19. The Old Globe presents William Shakespeare's delightful and romantic Twelfth Night, directed by Rebecca Taichman, whose production of the time-traveling Time and the Conways fascinated audiences last April, as part of the 2015 Summer Shakespeare Festival. The Old Globe engagement runs through July 26, 2015, with opening night tonight, June 27 at 8:00 p.m., in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre.

Monica Lewis, a former Benny Goodman vocalist who headlined the very first broadcast of the 'Ed Sullivan Show,' was THE VOICE of the popular Chiquita BANANA cartoons, clowned opposite Jerry Lewis, Red Skelton and Danny Kaye, turned down a marriage proposal from Ronald Reagan and went on to play co-starring roles in such films as 'Earthquake,' 'Airport 1975' and 'The Concorde--Airport '79,' died on June 12 of natural causes at her apartment in Woodland Hills, CA. She was 93.

From a pool of nearly two hundred Los Angeles playwrights, Humanitas and CTG have chosen five writers for their new PLAY LA Workshop, a year-long development process for local, early to mid-career writers interested in creating stage works from the ground up. Each playwright will receive a $1,500 stipend and access to critiques and feedback from theatre, film and television professionals throughout the year as they develop a new play.

As a part of their new partnership PLAY LA, Center Theatre Group and Humanitas will be accepting submissions starting June 1 for the Humanitas/CTG Playwriting Prize, which supports Southern California playwrights. Submissions will be accepted until June 30.  Three finalists will be notified in mid-December 2015 and the winner will be announced at the 41st Annual Humanitas Prize Awards Luncheon in February of 2016.  This is the first year Humanitas and CTG are awarding this annual prize.
