Nettle Creek Players, a 501c3 not-for-profit arts organization, on Monday, June 19 will welcome to Hagerstown a troupe of visiting professional theatre artists who will live in the community for five weeks as they prepare and present the Nettle Creek Players 2017 Summer Stock Tent Theatre Season featuring productions of THE FANTASTICKS, THUMBELINA, BROADWAY ON MAIN STREET, and the NCP Young Actors Musical Theatre Workshop.  Performances of THE FANTASTICKS will be at 7:30pm on July 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 & 22 with BROADWAY ON MAIN STREET at 2:00pm on July 9, 16 & 23 and THUMBELINA at 11:00am and 1:00pm on July 15 & 22, 2017.  The Workshop will be offered from July 11-23, 10:00am-3:00pm.

Asheville Creative Arts (ACA), Asheville's professional children's theatre has unveiled its new brand and brand new initiatives for its 5th Milestone Season.

Based on the motion picture, a young boy named Ralphie Parker only wants one thing for Christmas: a Red Ryder BB gun. However, he is not sure he will ever make it to Christmas, between his brother Randy and the school bully Scut Farkus. A classic holiday favorite!

Founders Abby Felder and Robbie Jaeger, with resident artists Jonesalee, announce the continuation of Asheville Creative Arts' (ACA) 4th season with the swash-buckling musical, HOW I BECAME A PIRATE, with book, music and lyrics by Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman, based upon the book by Melinda Long and illustrations by David Shannon, directed and choreographed by Robbie Jaeger, with assistant direction and stage management by Katie Jones.

The Secret Garden Synopsis: A lyrical jewel, this adaptation of one of literature's best-loved stories sets every audience's heart soaring. The story of orphan Mary Lennox on a journey from India to England and from childhood to wisdom is set to some of Broadway's most beautiful music. This show will be a treat for children and grown-ups alike.

Gay Film Weekend, today, October 18 to 21, will feature enhanced staged readings of the five finalists, panels on the history and creation of LGBT film, and a Queer Shorts Film Program curated by Indie Boots Film Festival.

Five finalists have been named in Pride Films and Plays' Great Gay Screenplay Contest. These five screenplays will be performed as enhanced staged readings (with movement and design elements) by members of the Artistic Ensemble of Pride Films and Plays during Gay Film Weekend, October 18 to 21, at Center on Halsted's Hoover-Leppen Theatre, 3656 N. Halsted, Chicago.
