Continuing their mission of developing new works and cultivating the next generation of playwrights, Urban Stages (Frances Hill, Artistic Director) will present a reading of David Koteles' The Cook's Tour, directed by Chris Henry. The reading will take place on Tuesday, February 8 at 6PM.The free reading will take place at Urban Stages Theatre (259 West 30 Street) reservations can be made by calling 212 421-1380.

Noor Theatre Begins Open Call For Scripts

Noor Theatre announces a general call for submissions of new plays by writers of Middle-Eastern descent. Submissions will be considered for upcoming programming including the fall reading series, Highlight, as well as possible special events, workshops and commissions.

The Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) will produce the world-premiere of Christopher Shinn's play PICKED in March, along with a new interactive work by Zach Helm inspired by Spalding Gray in February, it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, Artistic Director of the Vineyard.

MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) will celebrate the company's 25th anniversary by honoring a host of MCC artists past and present at Miscast 2011. This highly anticipated annual gala will take place on Monday, March 14, 2011 at The Hammerstein Ballroom (311 West 34th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues). Andy Cohen (Host of Bravo TV's 'Watch What Happens Live') will host the evening. David Duchovny (star of the recent MCC Theater hit, The Break of Noon), Téa Leoni, Hugh Dancy (star of yet another recent MCC hit, The Pride) and Claire Danes are this year's honorary chairs. Funds raised from Miscast help MCC Theater produce some of the most talked-about new work Off Broadway and support their Youth Company and in-school partnerships that serve New York City public high school students, as well as their literary development work with emerging playwrights.

INTERVIEWING THE AUDIENCE - a new work by the playwright and filmmaker Zach Helm and created spontaneously each night by Mr. Helm from on stage interviews with willing members of the audience - will begin previews February 3 prior to its official opening night on February 10 as the next production in the Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) season. Tickets are on sale now to this limited engagement, which runs through February 27.

The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) will kick off a brand new series, VINEYARD MASTERS - master classes with leading Vineyard Theatre artists - on Sunday, January 9, 2011 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a 'DIE VAMPIRE, DIE! WORKSHOP' conducted by the actress Susan Blackwell and actor and Tony-nominated writer Hunter Bell, both stars of the musical [title of show], which was given its world-premiere at the Vineyard in 2006 prior to its Broadway transfer in 2008.
