The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will host more than 120 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the 44th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), April 16-21, 2012. In January and February of this year, these artists from eight regions presented their outstanding work and were selected to travel to Washington, D.C. for an expense-paid trip to participate in National Festival events taking place at the Kennedy Center.

Cortland Repertory Theatre, celebrating their 39th annual season of live theatre summer productions, invites children of all ages to attend the enchanting production of 'The Jungle Book' based on the stories of Rudyard Kipling and adapted by Tim Kelly. Four performances are planned: July 29, 31, August 6 and 7, all at 10:00 AM.

The original 1955 Broadway production won the Tony Award for Best Musical, and Bob Fosse won his first of many Tonys for Best Choreography. The recent 2006 Broadway revival starred Harry Connick Jr. and won the Tony Award for Best Musical Revival with Kathleen Marshall also winning for Best Choreography. CRT's production will be the first time this theatre has presented the musical, which will also be the first professional production in Central New York in years. The winners for the eighth annual Cortland Repertory Theatre 'Pavilion Awards' were announced on Sunday, June 6, at the National Historic Little York Pavilion, home to CRT. The awards, sponsored by First Niagara Bank, recognize outstanding achievement in local high school theatre during the 2009-10 school year.
