MTV.com reports that a member of the paparazzo was killed as he attempted to snap a photograph of pop star's Justin Bieber's Ferrari. The incident happened on New Year's day. The singer offered his prayers and condolences to the family of the photographer, and urged that legislation be passed in order to ensure the safety of celebrities.

NBC's 'New Year's Eve With Carson Daly' will ring in 2013 with Grammy Award-winning group Train, performing 'Mermaid' and John Lennon's 'Imagine,' and, Cassadee Pope, the winner of NBC's 'The Voice,' as well as some of the best musical performances from 2012. The two-hour special will air live on Monday, December 31, beginning in primetime from 10-11 p.m. (ET), and continuing from 11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. (ET) with the first performances of the New Year. 'NBC's New Year's Eve with Carson Daly' will broadcast in high definition from the middle of the world's most famous New Year's Eve destination -- Times Square in New York City.
