Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo is an all-male company of professional dancers that perform playful parodies of traditional ballet.

Opera diva Julia Migenes performed Diva on the Verge ten years ago at the Odyssey after a triumphant London engagement; at that time she showed a bold bravura that still is tantalizingly delicious. After beginning the evening with a disclaimer that more or less states 'if you expect serious opera, you have come to the wrong venue', Migenes clearly and frankly details the practically impossible feats that are expected from a diva in an operatic performance and then proceeds to illustrate them to the audience through wickedly exaggerated yet endearingly loving renditions.

The Joyce Theater welcomed back LES BALLETS TROCKADERO DE Monte Carlo for its biannual three-week NYC holiday engagement, which will end on January 2, 2011. The season will feature two different programs and two Joyce premieres, performed by the primo ballerinas that have made this beloved troupe the foremost all-male comic ballet company in the world. Hazel - the saucy maid whose wry attitude, infallible wisdom and heart of gold has captured the hearts of millions for more than 60 years - will be in the spotlight again in an exciting new Broadway musical with music by composer Ron Abel and lyrics by Chuck Steffan. The veteran duo has acquired the rights to Hazel from the estate of creator Ted Key and are hoping to bring the show to the Great White Way in 2011.

Starting next month, the Met will present Summer HD Encores, a series of popular Live in HD screenings from recent seasons, featuring opera's greatest stars in productions of repertory classics.
