August Wilson's MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM will be the next project that actor and director Denzel Washington will adapt for the screen. The play, which recently ran at theUK's National Theatre, will be part of Washington's previously announced plan to bring all 10 of the playwright's works to the screen over the next ten years.
FENCES Film's San Francisco Premiere to Reopen the Curran Next Week; Enter Ticket Lottery!

Paramount Pictures, with the Curran theater and the San Francisco Film Society, will present the San Francisco Premiere of the film Fences, which has been adapted into a motion picture by the late August Wilson. The event, 30 years after the play first played at the Curran theater ahead of its Broadway premiere, will reopen the Curran following a just-completed, extensive renovation.

Denzel Washington and Viola Davis reprise their roles in a big screen adaptation of August Wilson's 1983 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play FENCES. Washington directs the film, hitting theaters on Christmas Day, December 25th from Paramount Studios.

HBO has renewed the critically acclaimed drama series THE LEFTOVERS for a third and final season, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. Created by Damon Lindelof (Emmy winner for “Lost”) and Tom Perrotta (Academy Award nominee for “Little Children”), the series is produced for HBO by White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros. Television.
