Following on from its critically acclaimed 2015 London run and 2016 UK Tour, Green Day's explosive Tony Award ® winning musical, American Idiot will be returning to it's London home at the Arts Theatre, for a strictly limited run from 8 July - 25 September 2016, with press night today 13 July.

Celebrated vocalist Julie Benko, stepping off the Broadway stage where she appears in Fiddler on the Roof, returns to the Cornelia Street Cafe on Sunday, July 31st at 8:30PM to present an evening of jazz. She is backed by a virtuosic sextet including Jason Yeager (piano), Danny Weller (bass), Jay Sawyer (drums), Andy Warren (trumpet), Kenny Pexton (reeds), and Walter Harris (trombone).

On Tuesday 9 August, renowned jazz master Wolfgang Muthspiel returns to Sydney for one night only, performing with his celebrated collaborators in the Wolfgang Muthspiel Trio, proudly presented by City Recital Hall.

A longtime member of the Grammy-nominated a cappella band, the Bobs, LA-based composer/vocalist Amy Engelhardt delivered a riotously funny hour of song at Don't Tell Mama on what she conceded was a “shvitzy” Sunday in June (the 19th to be exact). Three o'clock on Father's Day may not be the best slot for a gig, but the Berklee College of Music-trained musician (and 2011 MAC Dottie Burman Award-winner for songwriting) brought her signature wit and warmth to what felt as much like an intimate gathering in her living room as a formal cabaret performance. Engelhardt's show, My Own Devices, featured material from her first album, “Not Gonna Be Pretty,” as well as material to appear on her upcoming second CD release.

America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, Music Mountain, continues its exciting 87th Anniversary Season with the critically acclaimed Enso String Quartet with guest artist Daniel Epstein, piano performing Turina, Beethoven, and Schumann on Sunday, July 17 (3PM). As the first collaboration with the acclaimed Catskill Jazz Factory and MM, jazz vocalist Joanna Wallfisch will sing the sounds of the 1960s on Saturday, July 16 (6:30pm). The Firehall Arts Centre is pleased to announce its 34th season and Artistic Director Donna Spencer has proudly programmed a season that celebrates women and their connections to community and family. From one of Canada's funniest people on television, Cathy Jones, to the iconic music of Joni Mitchell; from the dream of women telling their own stories on stage in Shakespeare's time to the heart-rendering story of a refugee mother struggling to help her son become a Canadian; and from a new mom coping with the challenges of motherhood to a sixteenth century French noblewoman trying to survive abandonment on an island off the coast of Newfoundland, the stories are all rich, compelling, and highly entertaining.

For our 68th show, we take a look back at one of the greatest decades in music and the amazing singer/songwriters of that era. It's a different kind of show for us, but we do love to be different. So, you'll be getting classic and amazing songs by the likes of Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Carole King, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, Elton John - well, you get the idea. We've assembled a wonderful cast, including a rare appearance from Guy Haines, who absolutely assures us that he will be there this time. So, get in the Kritzerland Time Machine and travel back to the eclectic and astonishing songs of the great singer/songwriters of the 1970s.

On Thursday May 19 consummate singer Pat Whiteman presented An Evening of Pat Whiteman & Grammy nominated songwriter Harriet Schock at the E Spot Lounge at Vitello's in Studio City to a sold-out house of arduous music lovers. Although not as well known as the others, Harriet Schock has been compared to Joni Mitchell and Carly Simon. Her pop songs are that good, for example 'Ain't No Way to Treat a Lady' which gave Helen Reddy a great big hit back in the 70s. Who better to interpret her incisive emotional messages than virtuoso Pat Whiteman? The evening was a divine songfest of original material with a 6-piece band, including Schock at the piano and electronic keyboard, and two backup singers. There were also special guests: Gary Lynn Floyd, who has an uber expressive singing style perfect for Schock's music...and movie composer Misha Segal who co-wrote the gorgeous 'First Time on a Ferris Wheel' with Schock.
